"Let's lock the door and go to sleep. Ignore him." Sun Jie simply bolted the door, then went back to the bedside, sat down, stretched, and spoke.
"Is that so? Is that really what you think?" With only the two women left, Xiao Qing's words grew bolder. It was also because she and Sun Jie had once had that kind of relationship—neither could fool the other, and there was no need to mince words.
"What else am I supposed to think?" Sun Jie was taken aback. "Hey, Xiao Qing, there seems to be something hidden in what you're saying."
"Nothing of the sort. I just think you won't be able to hold out." Xiao Qing snickered. "Your needs are stronger than mine, aren't they?"
"Hey, then I'll come to you, not her. How about the two of us relive old times?" Far from being embarrassed, Sun Jie actually made a joke of it. Small wonder—given the relationship they had shared before, there was nothing to be shy about.
"Not a chance." Xiao Qing shook her head. "Don't even think about it from now on. Looking back, it was such a boring thing, and yet the two of us could do it with such relish."
"Seems that after Yan, you just can't pull yourself out of it," Sun Jie teased.
"You're one to talk—you're no different!" Xiao Qing had quite lost her usual composure and was bickering with Sun Jie.
"What do you mean, me? I've got to be on my guard against him!" Though Sun Jie had to admit the feeling was rather nice, until their relationship was settled, she could not help feeling that Yang Ce was more like violating her.
"Liar. Who was it, I wonder, in the bar's restroom earlier, whose cries nearly deafened me?" Seeing Sun Jie refuse to admit it, Xiao Qing called her out to her face. Yang Ce was not around anyway, so she did not bother to hold back.
"Ah!" Sun Jie was startled. She had never expected Xiao Qing to know about what had happened in the restroom that day, and she flushed bright red with shame, unable to speak.
She had just sworn up and down that she would guard against Yang Ce, and within moments she had become a joke. What was more, it seemed she had not only failed to guard against him, but had been looking for every chance to carry on with him behind Xiao Qing's back. "Th-that was because I was drunk!" Sun Jie stammered in explanation.
"What's that saying? To explain is to cover up. Besides, when I saw you, you were thoroughly absorbed—I dropped my glass on the floor and you never noticed." Xiao Qing did not believe a word of it.
"I—I—" Sun Jie wished she could crawl into a crack in the floor. Xiao Qing's words had turned her red with embarrassment.
"Hahahaha!" Yang Ce laughed uproariously next door, waving his arms and legs about. He had been watching the room next door the whole time. He could not hear the voices, but he could read lips.
Yang Ce had never dreamed that the gentle Xiao Qing, when alone with Sun Jie, could say such shocking things. Watching Sun Jie's face—like a little sun—he nearly laughed himself sick.
Yang Ce figured that now that the two of them had laid everything bare, perhaps his chance had come. He rose stealthily and tiptoed toward the door, though out of the corner of his eye he kept watch on the room next door.
Sun Jie, beside herself with shame and anger, burrowed under the quilt and would not come out. Xiao Qing stood to one side, covering her mouth and struggling not to laugh.
This kind of door lock was no obstacle at all for Heng. He picked it open with ease using a paper clip, then swaggered inside.
"Ah—Yang Ce, how did you get in?" Xiao Qing was startled. She thought to herself, surely that girl Sun Jie, her heart all aflutter, said she had bolted the door but actually left it open for Yang Ce.
Yang Ce gently closed the door, then in an instant bolted it and ruined the lock, figuring that even if anyone wanted to run out now, it would be impossible.
The first time, after all, one had to be a bit forceful. Once there was a first time, the second and third would be no dream.
