Chapter 13 — Attending a High-Level Meeting

This was also why Sun Lin had never thought well of Guo Dongchuan. Guo Dongchuan gave Sun Lin the impression of someone who, though a graduate of a famous university, was far too shallow. To call him a man of the streets was too generous; to say he was not of the streets made him too martial. Put plainly, he was a man of culture with a bandit's air about him—giving one the sense of being neither high nor low, good for nothing in particular.
There was a saying that captured it well: these days one need not fear a rogue, but one should fear a rogue with culture. Yet Guo Dongchuan's culture didn't seem quite that either—he fell far short of the true bearing of a man of high station.
He felt more like an upstart eager to force his way into high society.
But as for this Yang Ce on the screen now, Sun Lin's first impression was fairly favorable. No matter what, this Yang Juehuan had good presence, and for a university student to remain unflustered in a company's high-level meeting was no easy thing. Looking at the calm smile on Yang Ce's face, Sun Lin could not help nodding—this man had, at the very least, the bearing of someone of high station.
Sun Lin hung up on Sun San and called the company's real estate department, summoning several veteran experts directly to the chairman's office. He intended to put this Yang Ce to the test—and if he truly proved capable, then he would be cultivated with particular care.
Only, this Yang Ce looked to be just about twenty—though that was merely appearances; a proper investigation would put him at not yet twenty. His own daughter was already twenty-five. Sun Lin sighed. True, his daughter took good care of herself and looked young, and this young man called Yang Juehuan also looked quite mature—but the age gap was there for all to see.
Dear readers, can Old Yu's monthly ticket ranking really not climb any higher? The gap with those ahead isn't all that large. Everyone, reach out your hands and make a little effort—miracles are created by you.
To be continued.
