Chapter 13 — Attending a High-Level Meeting

488. It was Yang Ce.

The people below were all unfamiliar with Mingyang Real Estate—none of them knew what sort of company it actually was—but the title of Honorary Advisor struck them as deeply puzzling. If their guess was right, then this man really might be some relative of the imperial family, a kinsman of one of the major shareholders at headquarters.

Yang Puqi, Honorary Advisor of Mingyang Real Estate, gave a bitter smile. What sort of title was that, anyway? As for the name Mingyang, only Sun Jie could have come up with it—probably just something she'd improvised on the spot from her own name. Unfortunately, it happened to collide with the name of Hou Lin's security company.

Still, Yang Jiyan did genuinely have it in mind to set up a real estate company—he just hadn't expected Sun Jie to have hit the mark. Yang Ce was planning to have Hou Lin and the others run it. With Hou Lin's background, gaining a foothold in Songjiang's real estate market shouldn't be any trouble at all.

Since Sun Jie had introduced him that way, Yang Shuo xuan could hardly contradict her. He could only rise calmly to his feet and, with the air of an expert, nod to everyone with an air of unfathomable profundity. Though the executives below had no idea of Yang Juehuan's true identity, they reasoned that anyone Sun Jie thought highly of must be either a kinsman of headquarters or a genuine expert, so they all clapped warmly.

It left Yang Mo a little ill at ease, yet he had no choice but to smile and acknowledge them all. Fortunately, Yang Juehuan had a thick skin—even a machine gun couldn't pierce it.

Sun Lin kept every day tightly scheduled. For remote meetings like Sun Jie's, he usually just glanced at them and then left his secretary to follow up. But today, having heard the name Yang Juehuan, he took a lively interest and began watching the meeting video.

"Chairman Sun, the time for the morning regular meeting is almost here," the secretary reminded him.

"Oh—let Vice Chairman Wang handle today's regular meeting. I won't be going," Sun Lin instructed.

"Yes, Chairman Sun." The secretary found it rather strange; the chairman rarely ever skipped the regular meeting. But since the chairman had spoken, the secretary dared not disobey. He withdrew respectfully to arrange the morning meeting.

After the secretary had gone, Sun Lin picked up the telephone on his desk and dialed a number.

"Third Brother?" Sun Lin asked.

"Master, it's me," Sun San said respectfully.

"Go to my study, turn on the computer, and log into the internal video conference channel. Take a look—is this Yang Ce?" Sun Lin said.

"Yes, I'll go at once." Sun San put down the newspaper in his hands and hurried toward Sun Lin's study. In the Sun household, only Sun San was ordinarily permitted to enter Sun Lin's study; the other servants were barred from it. It housed a large number of contract copies and commercial secrets.

Sun San entered the study, turned on the computer, and logged into the internal meeting channel. In the recording, it happened to be Sun Jie speaking, and Yang Ce was sitting right beside her.

"Do you see him?" Sun Lin asked.

"I see him. That's the one—he's the very man who came to Donghai last time," Sun San said, certain after a single glance.

"Oh—so it really is him. But how did he become some sort of real estate advisor?" Sun Lin frowned. "Didn't you tell me he was a university student, studying computer science?"

"That much is true. I've already looked at his school records—he really is a first-year student at Songjiang Engineering University, in the computer science department," Sun San said. "Only, this morning, Ya Yu Yanan called me and said Yang Ce spent last night resting at the young lady's place."

"Go on," Sun Lin prompted. He was not a conservative man, and besides, his daughter was already grown; he had no right to interfere in her private life.
