Chapter 398 — The Final Form of Telepathy

The myth and legend of the Azure Dragon existed on both Earth and Blue Star, and likewise on both, it was regarded as fictitious.
In both places, the Azure Dragon referred to the name of an eastern dragon-shaped constellation, originating in the worship of the ancient constellations. On Blue Star, the Azure Dragon was first recorded in the Totem Era; it was said that humans of the Totem Era, in order to intimidate other totems, linked their faiths to fabricate this divine beast.
In the East of Blue Star, the Azure Dragon was exceedingly famous, one of the dragon-type mythic totems of human faith—yet among the orthodox dragon clans, whether the Mirage Abyss City of the Eastern Sea or the Western giant dragon tribe, none acknowledged the Azure Dragon.
For the Star-Attesting City and the Western Giant Dragon Empire recorded in detail that the ancestor of the dragon clan was a world-creating, world-destroying divine dragon by the name of the "Ancestral Dragon," a native divine dragon of Blue Star born of the Mother Star—not the Azure Dragon totem fabricated by humans and certain sub-dragons through the constellations.
If the Azure Dragon was formed from a constellation, then it was not even a native lifeform of Blue Star, which means the concept of the Azure Dragon was never orthodox on Blue Star in the first place.
And yet the concepts of the Azure Dragon, Vermilion Bird, White Tiger, and Black Tortoise spread remarkably widely across Blue Star. Quite a few transcendent lifeforms even took them as truth and evolved along those lines, totem-tier creatures among them, and in later ages demigods as well. But most of the dragon race still recognized the Ancestral Dragon above all.
The main reason being that one had evidence behind it, and the other did not.
At this moment, however, Shi Jin had discovered certain divine peculiarities of the Azure Dragon through the Azure Dragon Diagram in his memory.
That made sense, too. Even if the Azure Dragon truly was a fiction, after being worshipped for so long it ought to have birthed a spirit of its own, just like the Oceanic Spirits.
The pity was that these divine peculiarities still could not be linked to Eleven, Buggy, and the others.
"Is there still something missing somewhere..."
Shi Jin opened his eyes. The yin-yang grand ultimate diagram flickered once across the twin pupils that mirrored his soul, then swiftly vanished. Shi Jin sighed. Surely his own conviction was still insufficient.
Damn it.
No matter. Having glimpsed these wondrous patterns originating from Earth's ruins through the memory droplets and the power of meditation, Shi Jin became all the more certain, once again, that developing psychic resonance in this direction was the right path.
Through the psychic link, he would transmit these wondrous powers he sensed to his beasts, and through the power of imagination, apply that power to them and help them grow stronger. So long as he dared to envision it, Eleven could tread upon the yin-yang diagram and grapple a divine dragon in close combat, and Buggy could coil above the Seven Stars and transform into the Azure Dragon.
This, he felt, was what the psychic resonance of the Eleventh Bureau's archaeologist was ultimately meant to become. By comparison, spiritual telekinesis was merely an incidental byproduct of the development process.
