"What about those other two?" Wei Zhao asked.
"I had Tu Feng take care of them," Kun Cun said.
"Taken care of?" Wei Zhao started. "Who told you to take care of them?"
"You did, Brother Wei Zhao—didn't you say you never wanted to see them again and wanted them thrown out?" Kun Cun said, also taken aback.
"Oh?" Wei Zhao thought it over and could not help a wry smile. "What I meant was simply for you to let them go, to pay them no more mind. But since they're dead, then dead they are—those two were a nasty sort anyway, and keeping them around would only be trouble..."
By now Bai Weituo felt a touch of sympathy for Zhang Duopan. The man's death was truly not worth it—and what he never could have imagined was that Zhang Duopan had died by his own words. Truly, disaster comes out of the mouth.
"I'm really sorry... I thought..." Kun Cun was somewhat embarrassed too.
"Forget it, it's nothing. By the way, are you free today?" Wei Zhao asked.
"No, what orders does Brother Wei Zhao have?" Kun Cun asked quickly. In his heart he thought: even if I did have plans, I'd have to cancel them—what could possibly be more important than helping Brother Wei Zhao?
"Nothing much. Take Bai Weituo and Er Gou Dan around and show them a good time. They don't know the place, and wouldn't know where to go. With a local snake like you, things will be much easier," Wei Zhao said.
"No problem!" Kun Cun said. "As it happens, I haven't had much fun since I came to Southeast Asia either. This chance Brother Wei Zhao is giving me is really quite good!"
Wei Zhao shook his head. Kun Cun really was a flatterer!
As for sightseeing, Wei Zhao would not be joining them himself. He planned to cultivate in his room—his time was running short, and he had to raise his strength as early as possible!
With a local snake like Kun Cun leading them about, Bai Weituo and Er Gou Dan were in for quite a time. The security guards at nearly every entertainment venue knew Kun Cun, and while they gave him face, they were also astonished—since when had Kun Cun taken up work as a tour guide?
And who were these two—some masters or young gentlemen from somewhere—that Kun Cun would treat them with such courtesy?
But think it as they might, no one was so rude as to ask. Over the course of a week, Bai Weituo and Er Gou Dan toured every interesting sight and amusement the area had to offer. Kun Cun saw them onto their return flight, while Wei Zhao would go directly to X Island and so would not accompany them back.
Under his master's development and management in years past, X Island had become a famous tourist resort, with several flights arriving and departing each day, so Wei Zhao reached X Island Airport with great ease.
Just as on his last return, a car with the Dior butterfly emblem was parked not far from the apron outside the airport.
Wei Zhao smiled faintly. Only Yang Qiqi's and Xiao Jiu's cars could drive into the airport unimpeded; the two of them were like princesses on X Island, and no one dared stop their cars.
After getting off the plane, Wei Zhao walked toward the car. The people inside had clearly seen him too—Yang Qiqi leapt excitedly from the driver's seat and ran toward Wei Zhao, while inside the car, Xiao Jiu was smiling and waving to him through the open window!
"Brother Wei Zhao!" Yang Qiqi ran over and flung herself onto him, hugging him and refusing to let go.
In that moment, Wei Zhao felt as if he had returned to childhood. Back then, every time he came back from a mission, Yang Qiqi had been like this—and after her confession last time and the knot in her heart being untied, Yang Qiqi had gone back to her old self!
Only this time, when Wei Zhao saw Xiao Jiu, his feelings were still quite complicated. Last time they met, he had not dared face her feelings; this time, it was because Xiao Jiu was about to leave!
Lately Wei Zhao had nearly become a professional see-er-off of inheritors—his daily work was escorting inheritors to their sects!
