"Oh, is that so? Then when will I get my Qi-Gathering Pill? Are you planning to welch on the deal?" Wei Zhao asked.
"That... of course not." Kang Jingming had not expected Wei Zhao to bring that up again—if he hadn't mentioned it, Kang Jingming would have nearly forgotten. "Well... you know, the Qi-Gathering Pill is rather difficult to refine. It doesn't succeed so easily, so you'll have to wait a bit. Don't be anxious..."
"Is that so? I see you refining all those Grade One pills so smoothly—why is it that the Qi-Gathering Pill is suddenly beyond you? You're not just humoring me, are you?" Wei Zhao said.
"Grade One pills are so simple. The Qi-Gathering Pill is a Grade Three pill—it's rather complicated," Kang Jingming said.
"Oh, the Grade One automatic cauldron is pretty complicated too, and you managed to replicate it. I think you simply haven't taken this seriously at all," Wei Zhao countered.
"Ahem... how could that be? Don't worry, it'll be ready soon..." Kang Jingming said hurriedly.
"Fine. I hope you'll hurry it up, because otherwise, next time I won't be so easy to talk to," Wei Zhao said. "You can kidnap Liu Tianli, and I can kidnap Kang Cuipu and Kang Laicai. You figure it out."
"Don't worry, I'll make haste," Kang Jingming said.
After hanging up, Wei Zhao called Xiao Jiu and had her send the server program and the peripheral manufacturing data to Kang Jingming's email. And on Kang Jingming's side, after receiving these things, he really did release Liu Tianli.
Keeping Liu Tianli here was just a waste of food anyway—better to send him off as soon as possible. If he ended up dying here from a drug overdose, Wei Zhao might fly into a rage and very well go take it out on the Kang family, and Kang Jingming was not about to bear that responsibility!
"Just have a disciple send Liu Tianli back. You don't need to show yourself," the Ancestor Xuan Chen said after hearing the report. "By the way, there's nothing wrong with that data, is there?"
"The data is fine. Dr. Benjamin II has already looked it over. We can launch this new peripheral in a short time," Kang Jingming explained.
"We need to get it on the market as soon as possible, or else we won't even recoup our investment!" Ancestor Xuan Chen nodded. Their Grade One cauldron and Wei Zhao's Grade One cauldron had entirely different costs. Theirs was a genuine, bona fide cauldron, while Wei Zhao's was a titanium-alloy substitute, so Ancestor Xuan Chen's costs were higher. If these things failed to sell and ended up stuck in their hands, the loss would be enormous.
"Understood. I'll urge Dr. Benjamin II to hurry up and roll out the upgraded product," Kang Jingming said with a nod.
"Mm, good," Ancestor Xuan Chen nodded.
"Oh, there's one more thing, Father-in-law. Just now, Wei Zhao asked me whether the Qi-Gathering Pill had been refined yet, and I fobbed him off. What do you think we should do about this?" Kang Jingming asked. (I answered everyone's questions about the new book on the official WeChat account and also put up a survey questionnaire. Please follow the account yuren22.) RS
