"Mm-hmm." Han Jingyi nodded. "So sleepy... Brother Wei Zhao, Jingjing has been studying the Grade Two automatic medicine cauldron these past few days. As for that Grade One automatic cauldron, Kang Jingming wants it, so just give it to him, all right? Please?"
"If you say it's fine, then it's fine..." Wei Zhao, still reeling from the shock, was caught between laughter and tears. "You... you really are Han Jingyi? Then why are you even asking me? You invented all of this—give it to whoever you want. You don't need to consult me at all! Jingjing, I'm sorry. I treated you badly before..."
"It's all right. It's my own fault for deceiving Brother Wei Zhao..." Han Jingyi rubbed her eyes. "I'm dead tired. I'm going to sleep first. Brother Wei Zhao, my father's matter is in your hands now! Also, could you park the car outside in the garage for Jingjing? It's blocking the road out there..."
With that, Han Jingyi closed her eyes on Wei Zhao's bed.
Looking at the utterly exhausted Han Jingyi, Wei Zhao felt a sudden pang of sorrow. She had been helping him all this time without asking anything in return, and now that something had happened to Liu Tianli, she still had to come ask him for help. It truly made Wei Zhao feel that he had wronged her.
Wei Zhao pulled the blanket over Han Jingyi and tucked her in. Though his mind was full of questions, at the very least he would have to wait until she woke up. He picked up the keys to Han Jingyi's BMW and walked out of the villa.
This time, when Wei Zhao's gaze fell on the license plate of the BMW at the gate, he froze for a moment. This plate was Han Jingyi's, not the one on the car Liu Jinghan used to drive!
The two cars were both white BMW X5Ms, but the plates were different—he had been too distracted to notice before. Now it seemed that Liu Jinghan's return this time probably meant she was ready to lay her cards on the table with him. Otherwise, she would never have driven the car that belonged to Han Jingyi!
Wei Zhao got in, drove the car into the parking spot inside the courtyard, and then immediately dialed Kang Jingming's number.
"Oh? Isn't this Mr. Wei Zhao? What gives you the time to call a nobody like me?" Kang Jingming was thrilled to receive Wei Zhao's call. It looked like Wei Zhao was eighty percent ready to compromise!
"Kang Jingming, let's skip the nonsense. You can have the stuff—when are you releasing the man?" Wei Zhao had no patience for haggling with Kang Jingming and asked directly.
"Ha, Mr. Wei Zhao, once you give me the goods, I'll naturally release him!" Kang Jingming said.
"I can give you the peripheral data and the server's source code, but as for the new upgrade program and plan—I haven't even designed those myself. Wanting them is pointless!" Naturally, Wei Zhao could not possibly give Kang Jingming the data on Han Jingyi's Grade Two cauldron.
"Fine, those will do." In truth, Kang Jingming had never dared hope for the upgrade data—after all, getting even this much was already good.
"All right, I'll send these to your email. I have your address—is it still the same one as last time?" Wei Zhao asked.
"Yes. Once you send it and I've checked that it's genuine, I'll release him!" Kang Jingming said.
"You'd better keep your word, or you know my temperament. Your Kang family is in the secular world—if you want the Kang family wiped out, go ahead and play tricks." Wei Zhao spoke calmly. Of course, this threat was all well and good, but if Wei Zhao really did go and abduct the Kang family members to trade for the hostage, Kang Jingming might not even agree to the exchange! A man who could sacrifice his own elder brother's wife for profit—what was to stop him from sacrificing the entire Kang family?
Kang Jingming was cold by nature, so ordinary methods would not work on him.
"Don't worry, Mr. Wei Zhao. My reputation is quite good," Kang Jingming said.
