Tiandie withdrew. A flush crossed Tianchan's face, and she let out a faint sigh before murmuring, "If only life could remain as it was when we first met. Now, seeing one another is worse than merely cherishing the memory..."

The black-clad elder had left, but Wei Zhao could not settle his mind. After hesitating for a moment, he took out his phone. He had intended to call Tianchan, but the instant the call went through, he hurriedly ended it.

"I see..." Wei Zhao nodded. An expert at the peak of the late Heaven rank would be beyond his ability to contend with, even if he were uninjured, let alone in his current condition. What happened between you and the Dark Night Palace, Commander?"
"There was a bit of unpleasantness." Wei Zhao did not mention his injuries. He merely told Ge Xian about the Dark Night Palace coming to demand the Great Return Pill.
"The Dark Night Palace has no shame at all! They can actually do something like that?" Ge Xian was astonished. "That is rather taboo.
