Chapter 2894 — The Astounded Earth Drill Star

The only explanation was that this late Earth Rank expert was truly formidable—otherwise why would the transformed Tianchan say such a thing? This was a matter of face! To admit she was less skilled than another, and one far below her in strength at that—he simply could not believe the transformed Tianchan would joke about such a thing. Wouldn't it damage her reputation?
But there was one thing Earth Drill Star had not considered: the transformed Tianchan was, at this moment, Tianchan herself...
"Don't underestimate Wei Zhao. He may be a loose cultivator, but Feng Shihua, the eldest legitimate grandson of the ancient Feng family, and Li Ciba, the direct disciple of the Divine Fist Hall, are both his underlings. On the hidden side, he has many underlings as well. So in name he is a loose cultivator, but behind him there is in truth a most formidable power!" Tianchan explained.
"That formidable..." Earth Drill Star broke out in a cold sweat. He thought to himself that it was fortunate he had not rushed off to seek Wei Zhao's help—otherwise, if he had said a single wrong word, the least of it would be Wei Zhao refusing to help; but if Wei Zhao killed him outright, what would become of Young Sect Master Tu?
No wonder Zhang Naipao, after losing two mid Heaven Rank lackeys, had not dared to make trouble for Wei Zhao—and after returning had not dared utter a peep. So this was why!
Yet the more this was so, the more it showed Wei Zhao's formidable nature. Earth Overlord had been wounded by Zhang Naipao, and Wei Zhao was stronger than Zhang Naipao—so there was great hope that he could heal Earth Overlord's injuries.
"Yes. Wei Zhao has a somewhat eccentric temper. As a rule, he won't help people who have nothing to do with him, but when his underlings or family run into trouble, he will not shirk the duty." Tianchan went on: "Moreover, the more you try to force him, the less he will do as you say. As for how to go about asking him, you'll have to figure that out yourself."
"I see..." Earth Drill Star hesitated slightly, unsure whether Tianchan's words were a hint or something else. Did it mean that to heal Earth Overlord's injuries, the Loess Plateau Sect would have to acknowledge Wei Zhao as its leader? But for the vast Loess Plateau Sect to acknowledge a loose cultivator like Wei Zhao as its leader—that was a bit too bizarre, wasn't it?
Besides, this was not a matter he could decide on his own; he would have to see what Earth Overlord thought!
"Well, this is as far as I can help you. The rest is up to you," Tianchan said.
"Thank you, Young Sect Master Tian! Drill Star will keep this kindness engraved on his heart. Once Earth Overlord is saved, our Loess Plateau Sect will regard the entire Xuandan Sect as its benefactor!" Earth Drill Star said hurriedly.
Tianchan raised an eyebrow slightly and said mildly, "What I've told you is my own private advice. Don't go spreading it around."
"Ah..." Earth Drill Star was no fool and grasped her meaning at once. "I understand. Our Loess Plateau Sect will regard Young Sect Master Tian as a great benefactor. Should there ever be any place we can be of use, we stand ready to be summoned at any time!"
"Good. Off you go," Tianchan said with a nod.
"Yes!" Earth Drill Star had in truth been itching to go find Wei Zhao long before this. He raced once more to the Xuandan Sect inn, but urgent as he was, he did not go straight to Wei Zhao; instead he came to the inn's front desk and sought out Manager Sun. "Manager Sun, thank you for your notice earlier!"
