Chapter 1266 — Creepy Uncle Wei Zhao, Ying Ziyu Stuck Out Her Tongue and Dared Not Answer, Truly a Little Afraid of Wei Zhao

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

Wei Zhao stepped onto the podium of the classroom and rapped it with the blackboard eraser. The uproar died in an instant. Every one of them knew exactly who Wei Zhao was. What kind of man could he be, if even Brother Guang, the boss of the North District, called himself his old slave?

"Listen up, all of you! From tomorrow on, if you want to keep coming to school, dress like normal people. Boys, no more bare chests. Girls, no more bare thighs and cleavages. Dye your hair back to black, and sit in this classroom and study properly! If you don't want to come, then get lost!" Wei Zhao's voice was flat, yet it carried an indescribable menace. "I have said my piece. If anyone disobeys, you will bear the consequences!"

The students in the room were miserable, but there was nothing they could do. Under Wei Zhao's iron pressure, they could only hold their noses and submit.

When Wei Zhao brought Ying Ziyu back to the school, classes were almost over. Before long the bell rang through the corridor, and the students in the classroom began packing their bags.

"Are there no teachers?" Wei Zhao asked, a little puzzled.

"Teachers come to teach in the morning. Afternoons are usually self-study," Chen Xi said. "Nobody likes studying. Even when teachers come, they won't listen. There is nothing to be done."

Wei Zhao nodded helplessly. Chen Xi was right. This school was like that through and through, a problem of atmosphere from top to bottom, not something that could be changed just by saying so.

Those problems were for the principal to worry about, and Wei Zhao was too lazy to meddle. Taking Ying Ziyu and Chen Xi with him, he left the school together with Feng Xiaoxiao.

He flagged down a taxi and sent Ying Ziyu home first, taking the chance to learn the way to her door, so that he could catch her whenever he needed to.

The compound where Ying Ziyu now lived was hardly upscale, just an ordinary old neighborhood. It seemed Wei Zhao had guessed right. She could not have much money left. Pangolin had left her something back then, but after all these years, it must be nearly spent.

"Do you have enough money to live on?" Wei Zhao looked around Ying Ziyu's little nest. It felt clean and tidy enough, and he nodded without thinking.

Ying Ziyu was clearly no slovenly girl, and in her home Wei Zhao found nothing objectionable. Though this counted as a surprise raid, and she could hardly have prepared beforehand to hide things away, he still went through every room with meticulous care.

What he feared was that Ying Ziyu might have stashed away drugs or ecstasy pills and the like. What terrified him most now was that she might have picked up the bad habit of drug abuse.

Wei Zhao's powers of observation were formidable, and no hidden object in a room could escape his eyes. He first circled a large bedroom, which must have been her brother Pangolin's room. It was stark and empty, with nothing in it but a bed, a desk, and a small wardrobe.

He finished the search quickly. Apart from some of Pangolin's own clothes, letters, and photographs, there was nothing else amiss.

Gazing at the photographs Pangolin had kept, Wei Zhao could not help a soft sigh. Memories of those old days rose up again, but here he could not allow himself to betray the faintest trace of sorrow. If Ying Ziyu noticed, it would be disastrous.

Wei Zhao stepped out of Pangolin's room and turned into Ying Ziyu's bedroom. When she saw him poking about in her brother's room, she had not thought much of it, assuming he was fetching something for her brother. But when she saw him come out empty-handed and head straight for her own bedroom as if hunting for something, she grew anxious at once!

Like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, she darted in front of Wei Zhao in a flash. "You... you... what are you looking for?"
