Chapter 933 — Still an Uninvited Guest

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

"Ten million!" When the Medicine King made his move, it was rarely for less than ten million. Though the money was pure extortion from An Liwen, and the treatment did nothing to cure him at all, the Medicine King was a ruthless man — even when fleecing someone, he would never settle for cheap.

"That... fine!" An Liwen gritted his teeth. He was not especially wealthy; the bulk of his funds had long been handed over to the An family and the Fire Wolf Gang. This time, however, the Fire Wolf Gang had ordered him to set up an underground boxing ring, and had given him twenty million in seed money — and now, in one stroke, ten million was gone, which pained him deeply! But for the sake of a cure, he would rather rake in money like a madman later on; for now, this ten million had to be spent!

"Good, then I'll make the adjustments for you!" The Medicine King nodded, drew out his silver needles, and began solemnly jabbing them here and there into An Liwen's body. In truth, however, he was secretly using his true qi to seal off the meridians around An Liwen's dog kidney, so that the organ could only absorb nutrients and could no longer perform the normal functions of a kidney!

From then on, this kidney of An Liwen's would live inside him like a parasite. The Medicine King had no idea whether such a thing might produce some adverse aftereffects, but what did he care? It was cured now; if illness struck again later, that would be no concern of the Medicine King's. Who knew — when the disease flared up again, he might even collect another hefty consultation fee!

Half an hour later, the Medicine King finished, drenched in sweat. He wiped the perspiration from his brow and said weakly, "There! But I've expended too much true qi — I must rest a while first..."

After the Medicine King's exertions, An Liwen actually felt that his kidney no longer hurt at all; it seemed the treatment was truly effective! Overjoyed, he cried, "It's done just like that? Thank you, Medicine King, thank you! Wahaha, I'm finally a normal man with two kidneys!"

"Indeed — congratulations, Young Master Wen!" Zhao Qibing offered his congratulations too, smiling without a trace of warmth, while inwardly cursing the fool.

"Young Master Bing, once I'm back, I'll transfer the money to you. You won't doubt my credit, will you?" An Liwen had come in a hurry, with no cash on him, and had not activated his phone's transfer service.

"No matter — we're long-term partners, and I know your credit well enough!" Zhao Qibing waved a hand. "Just transfer it back to me when you return; you've never shorted me before!"

"No problem!" What An Liwen was thinking was that he would go home and test things out — see whether his kidney was truly cured. If it really no longer hurt and there was no more blood in his urine, then he would transfer the money to Zhao Qibing! Now that his kidney was fixed, he remembered what the Medicine King had said earlier about Wei Zhao, and asked with some curiosity, "Young Master Bing, what was that the Medicine King said about Wei Zhao? His true qi is gone?"

"You didn't know?" Zhao Qibing was taken aback. The news that Wei Zhao had lost all his martial arts was something he himself had spread; by rights, anyone with a grudge against Wei Zhao should have heard it. How was it that An Liwen did not know?

"These past days my kidney's been aching and I've been pissing blood — I hadn't the mind to pay attention to anything else, so I'm a bit out of the loop!" An Liwen said with a bitter smile.

"I see!" Young Master Bing nodded, and without hiding anything, recounted to An Liwen what had happened between Wei Zhao and the Gu family — even telling him how the Xiao family, himself, and the Yu family as well had all gone to Gu Pengzhan to demand money!
