"You little rascal." Feng Ying wore a smile, knowing that Shi Jin had come to give back to Pingcheng again. Over these two years, that genius Shi Tan had helped no small amount with Pingcheng's development and construction; he was about ready to rename Pingcheng Shicheng or Yucheng.
"Since you're here, why not have a drink?" Feng Ying invited.
"No, I've got other things to do," Shi Jin said.
"I understand, go be busy." Feng Ying said, "But take care of your health. You've been frail since you were little, and now you're this powerful, yet you still look frail..."
Shi Jin had been called over by Buggy, which, while remodeling Pingcheng, had unexpectedly discovered a certain person.
It was an artsy young man sitting by the roadside painting, with a Colorful Mushroom beside him. Seeing him, Shi Jin sank into recollection, then smiled faintly as he remembered.
Back when he was a newcomer, to help Buggy train its Power of Imagination and simulate an ice dragon, he had prepared a great many props—ice dragon statues, ice dragon paintings—and the ice dragon painting had been done by someone he'd asked for help... The person before him had originally been just a passerby he'd met once; he hadn't expected him to still be developing his career in Pingcheng, transformed from a student into a handsome artsy young man.
He had no idea whether the man knew that the buyer whose ice dragon painting he'd made had used it to have his pet materialize an ice dragon phantom and cut a swath through the professional assessment... Looking at the azure dragon the man was painting now, Shi Jin thought it over, and the man probably did know.
"Huh???" Having finally finished the azure dragon's eyes, the artsy young man by the roadside let out a breath of relief—but then he was shocked to find the painting flickering with light. The azure dragon within seemed to come alive, flying out of the painting, circling once in midair with a fierce, ear-splitting dragon roar, glancing at them, and then returning to the painting, which now bore a touch of transcendent power.
The young man looked around in shock, and found that the passersby coming and going had noticed nothing of the strange occurrence. He looked at his pet, and saw that it was also staring at him in bewilderment.
"Gu gu!!" The Colorful Mushroom asked what had just happened with that azure dragon.
"This painting..." The artsy young man was stunned. "Did the Azure Dragon God manifest??"
He stood frozen for a long while, then quickly rose to his feet. "This painting's not for sale. I'm going home!"
"Let's go." As the man headed home, Shi Jin in the sky called Buggy to leave. He turned, took out his phone, and dialed Lu Yan's number.
A puzzled voice came from the other end. "Shi Jin? What's up?"
"Lu Yan, come to the Ancient Capital for a bit. Tonight I'll treat you and Feng Jin and the others to a meal. In a few days I'm heading off to check out the Realm King Planet, and who knows how long it'll be before I'm back." After Shi Jin finished, the other end went silent for a long while, and then came a quiet voice: "Is there any way... you could bring me along?"
Shi Jin smiled bitterly. "What way would there be? If you want to go, just hurry up and break through to legendary-tier. I'll do my best to get you all some more teleportation keystones and cosmic crystals."
"Ah, all right."
In the Ancient Capital, Shi Jin wandered about and made his way back to the Ancient Capital University, planning to start by saying his goodbyes to Feng Jin. Wasn't the fellow always complaining that he went gallivanting off without reporting in? This time, for once, he'd actually report in—and right, he'd invite Instructor Qu Li along too.
Instructor Qu Li was quite fond of the bovine race, wasn't he? Shi Jin figured he could introduce him to the Golden Ink God before leaving, so that they might collaborate in the future and become a legendary examiner!
