Chapter 324 — Master Adds Points

The mechanical phantom beast project could finally make progress. If all went well, three months later he might even take first place in some competition or other — and he didn't even have to worry about it himself. Too good.
He should have done this long ago. It seemed his capitalist skill still hadn't been trained to the point of perfect mastery.
"Master, it is time to meditate."
"..." Shi Jin.
Shi Jin: _(lying flat, forehead to the floor, utterly defeated)_
"Feng Jin has something to discuss with me. Meditation — definitely tomorrow."
"Task list updated. Today's meditation task has been reasonably allocated across the next three working days."
Shi Jin: "Aaaah---"
............
Feng Jin did indeed have something to discuss with Shi Jin.
To be precise, it was Feng Jin and the Gem Cat who went looking for Shi Jin together.
"Say, Teacher Ying, I can't help feeling this is a bit underhanded."
Feng Jin wore a face weathered by the world.
The Ancient Capital University possessed only two legendary-tier resources in total, and they were the treasures that anchored the school.
This time, the Gem Cat had gotten both of them approved by leveraging the prestige of its newly attained Totem status and its own long-standing seniority.
With Feng Jin and the Totem Cat joining forces, their say truly was not something any other core higher-up of the Ancient Capital University could match.
And just like that, the Ancient Capital University's entire fortune was wiped out in one stroke.
"Nonsense. Those two legendary resources would just sit there gathering dust anyway. A resource is only good once it is used. Once Shi Yan and Qing Yi grow up, it will all have been worth it," the Gem Cat said with certainty.
Feng Jin's expression turned strange. You guardian overlord — the moment you broke through, you emptied out the Ancient Capital University completely. There's really no one else like you.
Still, after being swayed by the Gem Cat, Feng Jin had instinctively ended up on its side.
The reason was simple: the Gem Cat was applying for legendary-tier resources for Shi Jin and Lu Heng, the two finest students the Ancient Capital University had seen in decades, and Feng Jin was rather optimistic about both of them as well — so he threw his support behind it.
Otherwise, with only him and the Gem Cat on their own, they could never have decided the fate of the Ancient Capital University's anchoring treasures. Of course, the decisive factor was still that the Gem Cat had advanced to Totem — never mind two legendary resources; even five of them together would not be worth a single Totem in peak condition.
"Ahem, this is all for the good of the Ancient Capital University," the Gem Cat affirmed once more — never would it admit that this was the wisest of strategies for preserving its own gem.
Still, these legendary resources were indeed useless just sitting in storage; better to give them to promising beast tamers of the new generation.
The Ancient Capital University had originally held three legendary resources in its collection.
All three legendary resources had come from the secret realm of the Undead Battlefield.
A hundred years ago, under the combined effect of the Undead Dark Phoenix's rampage and the emergence of secret realms in the Totem Era, the Ancient Capital University suffered an undead calamity. Though this disaster inflicted tremendous losses on the Ancient Capital, it also yielded countless supreme treasures from the secret realms — and these three legendary resources were part of what the Ancient Capital University obtained.
One of the necromancy-type gems, the Gem Cat had used itself — a waste...
The remaining two were also necromancy-type legendary resources. The Gem Cat had calculated them all out, and planned to hand one of them to Shi Jin.
That resource, in its view, would suit Shi Ying and the Little Crimson Eye perfectly — they were bound to find a use for it.
