Chapter 141 — Old Buffon's Origins

"How much commission I'd get, I don't know either. But whatever it is, I definitely can't take a commission off you, boss." Li Dagang shook his head. "As for any bonus you want to give me later, that's entirely up to you, boss."

Yang XuTang laughed. "Fine, no problem at all. How could I treat you poorly when you come work for me?"

In the blink of an eye, they arrived at the villa area. This place was a separate zone, some distance from the residential area, guarded by its own security. Unless you were a resident of the villa area, you couldn't just walk in.

You could say the security and environment here were excellent—quiet and peaceful, especially suited for a patient like Zhou Yanning to live in. Yang Ce had barely looked around before he took a liking to the place.

Though Chen Shutang said nothing, Yang Ce could tell from her eyes that she liked it here very much.

"So, not bad, is it?" Li Dagang asked.

"Yes, it's decent. But how come not a single one has sold?" Yang Ce was curious. By all logic, houses like these shouldn't be left over.

"This is a high-end residential area, no mistake, and most of the people who can afford to buy here are wealthy. But we're in the north, not the south. The high-tech industry here is profitable, sure, but it's nowhere near as developed as down south, so incomes here only rank as middling. That's why these overly luxurious villas just won't sell. It's also why the developer originally built only ten of them." Li Dagang knew the local home-buying demographic well, so he spoke with complete authority. "Plenty of people come to look at the villas, but not that many can actually afford them."

"So that's it. I thought there was something wrong with the house." Yang Ce joked.

"Don't worry, boss. We're the ones selling these houses. If there were any problems with a property, the developer would tip us off in advance," Li Dagang said. "Our information is the most reliable."

Yang Shuoxuan knew Li Dagang was telling the truth. People in real estate sales generally had inside knowledge about the quality of a development. If there really was a problem with a project, the developer would surely notify them beforehand, so that the sales staff could be careful and avoid selling those units to anyone with connections, thereby heading off unnecessary trouble.

"Just joking," Yang Yanzhou said. "How come these villas all look different from one another?"

"That's right. Villas are expensive. To highlight their prestige, and to make the owners feel they're getting their money's worth, the developer made every villa's design unique," Li Dagang said. "What's more, each villa is priced differently. Take that one over there, for instance—it's the most expensive of them all. It's called Sun-Moon Pavilion. As the name suggests, it's a place touched by both the sun and the moon. That villa gets the best light, and there's a pond not far away, so the setting is the most elegant of all."

"Sun-Moon Pavilion—that's a nice name." Chen Shutang spoke up at once. "Sun and moon together make up the 'Ming' in your name."

Yang Xutang agreed with what Chen Shutang said and nodded with a smile. Indeed, just as Li Dagang had said, looking over the positions of all these villas, Sun-Moon Pavilion was the best.

Yang Ce wasn't short of money now, and when buying a house, one naturally wanted the most comfortable one. So he said directly to Li Dagang, "Let's go take a look at Sun-Moon Pavilion."

"Boss, Sun-Moon Pavilion is nearly twice as expensive as an ordinary villa—eighteen million yuan!" Li Dagang reminded him. Of course, there was no trace of condescension in his words; his tone was purely the casual chatter of friends.

"Ha, when you buy a house, you naturally want to get the most satisfactory one in one go," Yang Shuoxuan said, unbothered. "Come on, let's go have a look."

Seeing that Yang Xutang showed no particular reaction to the price, Li Dagang relaxed.
