Chapter 4691 — Nothing Would Come of It

The Blossom Guardian

"Exactly, Young Master Yin—that Wei Shenjin is nothing but an early-Nascent Soul cultivator. He only got noticed by the sect elders because he latched onto the Heavenly Path Sect. What kind of worthless trash is that, to dare compare himself with our Young Master Yin!" the rat-faced creature fawned.

"Right, right. We will seize this chance to win glory for Middle Island. Once Young Master Yin claims the West Island princess, he will rise to the top in a single bound—and even that Deputy Island Lord Chu will look on us with new eyes. As for that damned Wei Shenjin, he is not even fit to polish our Young Master Yin's shoes!" The other man was not about to be outdone in flattery.

"Now you two have hit the nail on the head. If I make my fortune this time, you will not go unrewarded!" Young Master Yin laughed heartily, elated.

Though his strength was formidable, he had never had any solid backing within the sect, and so things had always gone poorly for him. In the past two years especially, even scum like Wei Shenjin had become a core disciple whom the sect vigorously groomed—a fact that galled him no matter how he looked at it. This time he would use this rare opportunity to make a name for himself in one stroke, and then he would see just what kind of faces those snobbish wretches of the Snow Sword Sect would wear!

Of course, however poorly Young Master Yin might fare in the Snow Sword Sect, he was still a core disciple high above the rest. As for that worthless South Continent Escort Agency behind Qi Wenmo, he did not take it seriously at all—these were merely third-rate minor powers. Perhaps some people in the South Continent sea region still took them seriously, but how could they compare with a major sect like those of Middle Island?

There was simply no comparing the two; they were not in the same league at all. So even if he killed Qi Wenmo here, there would not be the slightest consequence. To say nothing of silencing witnesses—even if word leaked out, would that worthless South Continent Escort Agency dare go to Middle Island to seek revenge on him?

As Young Master Yin spoke, he strode toward Qi Wenmo and Xia Qianqian. A lewd smile hung on his face; his eyes held only the beauty in disguise. As for the rotten tuber and bad egg standing in his way, he could crush him with one hand and disdained even to glance at him.

Qi Wenmo gritted his teeth. He was just about to throw caution to the winds and strike when Xia Qianqian suddenly rushed out from behind him and, in turn, shielded him behind her, gritting her teeth at the steadily advancing Young Master Yin: "If you dare do anything to me, I would sooner shatter jade than be preserved as a whole tile!"

Caught off guard, Qi Wenmo gazed at the sight of Xia Qianqian stepping forth to shield him, and his eyes could not help reddening. Before he could even be moved, he hurriedly pulled her behind him once more and roared, "If you have business, come at me!"

"Hahahaha—what a fine pair, the lad full of love and the lass full of devotion. Interesting, most interesting! I do love beating mandarin ducks apart—that is how it gets satisfying!" Young Master Yin sneered without restraint. "A mere peak early-Nascent Soul, and you dare say such things to me? 'Sooner shatter jade than be preserved as a whole tile'? What a colossal joke! I say it should be called shattering the tile while keeping the jade whole—you two shatter, and I come to no harm!"

With that, Young Master Yin's aura as a consummate Nascent Soul expert enveloped Qi Wenmo and Xia Qianqian without reservation. Under that crushing pressure, both felt their hearts tighten at once—today was truly looking grim.

Yet at that very moment, a voice suddenly cut in: "What of peak early-Nascent Soul? Do you look down on it?"

With those words, Wei Zhao appeared in everyone's sight, his face cold and sharp. Behind him, Huo Yudie could not help feeling somewhat tense. She knew Wei Zhao's strength could not be measured by common sense, and she knew this man and woman were his friends, that he would certainly stand up for them. But matters had truly reached the point where it would not be easy to bring things to a clean end—because the three opponents were by no means weak!

The Young Master Yin in the center was a consummate Nascent Soul expert, to say nothing of the two lackeys beside him—both were late-Nascent Soul experts as well!

Faced with such strength, Wei Zhao's two friends could not contribute at all, and even if Wei Zhao could fight above his level, his cultivation realm was only peak early-Nascent Soul. Could he possibly be a match for these three?

Huo Yudie even felt that even if she joined the fight, she might not necessarily gain the advantage against these three—because when it came down to it, Wei Zhao's two friends would not only fail to help but would become a burden, and the outcome was truly hard to foresee.

Seeing Wei Zhao suddenly appear, Qi Wenmo—who had been facing the enemy as though before a great foe, already resigned to death—was instantly overjoyed. Now they were finally saved!

"Oh? Another weakling who is not afraid to die. What day is it today—is every worthless thing daring to play the hero?" Young Master Yin shot Wei Zhao a look of utter contempt from the corner of his eye. Then, when he caught sight of Huo Yudie, his eyes lit up at once—another rare beauty!

Xia Qianqian's charms were still not quite clear because of her disguise, but Huo Yudie was different. Even with a veil, her peerless beauty could not be concealed—especially that curvaceous, perfectly proportioned figure. She was a stunning creature no man could resist upon seeing her!

"You are from the Snow Sword Sect of Middle Island?" Wei Zhao glanced at the three with a faint lift of his lips and asked the Young Master Yin in the center.

"That is right!" Young Master Yin was briefly taken aback, then answered proudly. He promptly added, "If you know what is good for you, get out of here at once. Do not bring trouble down on your own sect—you cannot afford to provoke us!"

"Is that so?" Wei Zhao smiled noncommittally and asked instead of answering, "From what you said earlier, Wei Shenjin seems to be your rival?"

"Oh?" Young Master Yin was taken aback again and could not help scanning Wei Zhao with a suspicious look. Could this kid know that fool Wei Shenjin? But no matter what, there was clearly no reason for him to show weakness before such a nameless brat. He at once tilted his head back proudly, nostrils to the sky: "So what if he is? And where did a scallion like you pop up from?"

"Oh, nothing would come of it. I merely regret to inform you that you may go and die now." Wei Zhao smiled lightly, as calm as a passing cloud.

In an instant, everyone was stunned.

The three of them, Young Master Yin included, thought their ears had failed them, wearing expressions of complete bewilderment. Xia Qianqian, amid her joy, could not help but be a little dazed as well, while Huo Yudie was momentarily dumbfounded. She had just been pondering how to catch one of them off guard and kill him first, yet from Wei Zhao's tone, he clearly did not regard these people as worth a thought at all. (To be continued.)
