Chapter 414 — The Bizarre Analysis Report

The Blossom Guardian

"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!"

Qiu Lingshan threw five punches in a row, and only stopped when her own hand was throbbing with pain. She stalked out of the ward in a fury. Her two subordinates immediately sat up ramrod straight; they had heard the commotion inside and knew Qiu Lingshan was angry, so neither dared to risk her temper at a moment like this.

Fatso Lai could hardly believe his own eyes—his old man had actually woken up! Not only woken up, but he could talk, and he wanted something to eat!

"Dad, you're all right? You're better?" Fatso Lai was so overcome with excitement that he nearly fainted. "I'll go get the doctor—wait for me..."

Fatso Lai bolted out of the ward in a couple of strides and started shouting the moment he was through the door: "Doctor? Where's the doctor? Somebody come quick!"

"What is it? What's happened?" The doctor assumed something had gone wrong in the ward and hurried over—but when he entered and saw that Fatso Lai's father had actually woken up, he was stunned.

"Doctor, take a look at my dad right now—is he going to be all right?" The thing Fatso Lai wanted most just then was to run to Wei Zhao and kowtow to him a few times. What a great benefactor!

Only then did the doctor hastily round up a nurse to examine the old man, but the results left him even more astonished: every indicator had clearly improved a great deal from before. The uremia was not fully cured, but it was improving!

"How is that possible? How could this be?" The doctor stared at the report in his hands, dumbfounded. Just yesterday he had told Lai Changtian there was nothing more to be done—and today Old Master Lai had woken up? This defied all common sense... Wait! A thought struck the doctor. Yesterday this Lai Changshan had somehow gotten hold of some kind of Longevity Detox Pill and wanted to give it to Old Master Lai. Could that pill really have worked?

Beyond that, he could think of no other possibility! At the thought, the doctor quickly asked, "Mr. Lai, did you give your father that Longevity Detox Pill?"

"I did! What about it? It worked, didn't it? Ha, I told you it would!" Fatso Lai held the report, grinning so wide he could barely close his mouth. Less than half a Longevity Detox Pill had produced such miraculous results—so if he could get a whole one, wouldn't his father's illness be brought under control on the spot?

Fatso Lai didn't dare hope his father could be completely cured; as long as it was kept under control, that was enough. The old man was getting on in years—every extra year he could live was a year gained. That was Fatso Lai's only wish.

"It really did work..." The doctor wiped the sweat from his forehead. "I've never seen such miraculous results... Mr. Lai, if you'll forgive my bluntness, you should take the old man to find that expert. There's nothing I can do!"

This doctor had taken plenty of red envelopes from the Lai brothers, so he spoke honestly and pointed Fatso Lai down a clear path.

"Ah..." Fatso Lai's face fell at the doctor's words. "Would an expert like that even give me the time of day?"

The doctor shook his head. He had to admit the man had a point—if this really was an expert, he surely wouldn't pay much attention to the likes of Fatso Lai, a great bawling crybaby who burst into tears at the slightest thing. A grown man like that—wasn't he ashamed?

"Then let him stay in the hospital and be looked after for now. I'll do everything I can, at any rate," the doctor said.

"Oh, right—this matter, you have to keep it secret for me. Don't tell anyone, absolutely no one!" Something seemed to occur to Fatso Lai, and he hurriedly instructed the doctor.

"Don't worry, I won't go blabbing!" The doctor nodded, thinking to himself: Am I an idiot? Go out and tell people? That would only offend you and do me no good besides! If I keep my mouth shut, the world outside will assume I'm the one who cured Old Master Lai—and my reputation will rise accordingly.

Lai Changtian's face was grim as he rushed to the hospital, only to find that his father really had woken up—and even seemed to be in decent spirits! He hadn't expected his brother to succeed by sheer dumb luck and actually bring the old man around!

But that being the case, the agreement Lai Changshan had written up earlier was now void. The old man was still alive and well, and Lai Changshan had no right to dispose of the electronics industrial park's property rights.

Lai Changtian could only offer the old man congratulations and good wishes with a show of false sincerity, while inwardly scheming how to coax him into making the agreement he and Lai Changshan had signed a reality.

In the Kang family villa in Donghai.

Divine Doctor Kang stared at the composition analysis report in his hands with a strange expression. If this research report hadn't been personally verified several times by Kang Jingming and his people before reaching its conclusion, Divine Doctor Kang would have thought he was being made a fool of!

"Dog shit? The main ingredient of the Longevity Detox Pill is dog shit? You're sure there's no mistake?" Divine Doctor Kang glared at the lab report, his face written all over with disbelief.

"No!" Kang Jinglong shook his head. "Grandfather, I've had people analyze it many times, and the conclusion we finally reached is that it most closely resembles the composition of dog shit!"

"Dog shit? Are you saying dog shit has something to do with prolonging life and expelling toxins?" Kang Shenyi could not make sense of it no matter how he tried. Dog shit could actually have such an effect?

"Grandfather, but I really do feel wonderful!" Having gotten what he wanted, Kang Jingming stopped feigning illness. The very next day he appeared in the Kang family living room, hale and vigorous, full of vim and vigor. "Grandfather, I feel my body has improved a great deal... To be honest with you all, I used to be a bit deficient in the kidneys, but now, heh heh..."

Kang Jingming did not go on, but everyone understood his meaning! He was the most useless wastrel in the family, forever wallowing among women, so no one doubted what he said.

"Zhaoming, you really feel well?" Kang Shenyi found the whole affair bizarre. Dog shit could cure illness?

"Yes, Grandfather, I really do feel well now!" Kang Jingming nodded, then said, as if displaying a treasure, "Grandfather, actually, I think it's no wonder at all that the main ingredient of this medicine is dog shit!"

"Oh? How do you figure that?" Kang Shenyi's interest was instantly roused. In the past, he would never have paid attention to this grandson's words—a wastrel young master who did nothing but trade on the family name, eating and waiting for death.

But ever since Kang Jingming had tested the medicine on his own body, Kang Shenyi had begun to regard him more highly, and now that he had an opinion, Kang Shenyi naturally wanted to hear what he had to say.

"Grandfather, the truth is that we went down a blind alley, thinking that dog shit—such an ordinary, utterly wretched thing fit only to be thrown away—could not possibly be medicine!" Kang Jingming said. "But don't some medical texts say that things like boy's urine and tiger urine are medicines too? If urine can be medicine, why can't dog shit be medicine?"
