Chapter 354 — An Liwen's Scheme

The Blossom Guardian

To those who arrived in luxury cars, this little security guard was all servile bowing and scraping; but for someone like Wei Zhao driving a beat-up car, the little guard put on the airs of a tiger borrowing the fox's might.

"Who the hell are you calling a retard?" Su Taizao slapped the little guard across the face. He and An Liwen had parked the car, and when Wei Zhao still had not caught up, they had run to the entrance of the parking lot to look for him; but no sooner had they arrived than they heard the little guard calling him and Brother An retards. Su Taizao flew into a rage on the spot!

"I... I..." The little guard was stunned by the blow and had no idea why Su Taizao had hit him. But he could see that Su Taizao was dressed head to toe in designer brands and had come running out from inside the parking lot, clearly a VIP of this place, so how would he dare offend him? With a tearful face he said, "I didn't call you anything..."

"Still talking back, you son of a bitch?" Su Taizao slapped him again. "I'm treating him to dinner, and you call me a retard, like I didn't hear you?"

"Huh?" The little guard froze. He had never imagined that someone driving a beat-up van could actually have someone treating him to dinner!

An Liwen walked over as well and frowned. "Taizao, what's going on?"

"This guard called us retards! Does he have a death wish or what?" Su Taizao was thoroughly annoyed. Back in the day, when he and Brother An, as the Four Young Masters of Songshan, had run roughshod over Songshan City, which security guard or manager at any entertainment venue did not know them?

And now this little guard had no idea who he was, and even dared to curse him out. How could he not be furious?

"Forget it." An Liwen waved a hand dismissively. He was angry too, but there was real business to attend to today, and no time to deal with this little guard. "Let's go. Don't stoop to the level of small fry like this!"

Hearing this, the guard hurriedly bowed and scraped, apologizing and thanking him. Yet for all his deference to An Liwen and Su Taizao, when he lifted his head he shot Wei Zhao a venomous glare!

He did not believe Wei Zhao was a rich man. From the look of him, Wei Zhao was just a poor student driving a beat-up van that had probably passed through who knew how many hands. So while he dared not offend An Liwen and Su Taizao, he was already thinking of venting his resentment on Wei Zhao. He figured that in a little while he would go slash the tires of Wei Zhao's car; the parking lot was huge, and Wei Zhao would have no way of knowing who had done it. He would just have to count himself unlucky...

Wei Zhao's senses were keen beyond measure; how could he fail to notice the little guard's hatred? But he paid it no mind, and said mildly, "You keep an eye on my car for me. If anything at all happens to it, I'll hold you accountable!"

"Ah..." The little guard gave a bitter smile. He had not expected Wei Zhao to see right through him. Frustrated as he was, he had no choice but to swallow his pride and accept it. Little did he know that Wei Zhao simply could not be bothered to lower himself to the guard's level; otherwise, he would already be lying on the ground.

An Liwen led Wei Zhao to a private room on the fourth floor. The fourth floor was where the most exclusive rooms were located, and above the fourth floor was the entertainment club.

The room was large and spacious, and through the floor-to-ceiling windows one could take in the night view of the sculptural fountain in the city center not far from the hotel. It was an excellent spot, and one imagines that a room like this was not something an ordinary person could ever book.

"Brother Lin, please sit! Make yourself at home!" An Liwen, however, seemed long accustomed to such night views; he casually set his phone on the table and plopped himself down in a chair. "...It's been ages since I've been in this room. Three years or more, isn't it?"

"That's right, Brother An. Back in the day, we Four Young Masters of Songshan were something to behold! Now even these little security guards push us around!" Su Taizao said indignantly.

"Heh, it's just that Brother Lin dresses a bit plainly and his car is a little unusual, so that guard judged him by appearances!" An Liwen smiled, deliberately slipping in a quiet jab at Wei Zhao.

Wei Zhao understood perfectly well that An Liwen was mocking him for having no money and being unworthy of Gu Mengyao, but he did not mind. The reason he had come here today was that the Young Miss had sent him, and incidentally to teach the two of them a lesson on Shen Yushu's behalf. Everything else was secondary.

Besides, when Wei Zhao had carried out missions in the past, he had even disguised himself as a beggar. Why would he care about such contemptuous looks? So he had not taken the little guard's earlier words to heart at all.

"Ha, true enough," Su Taizao instantly caught An Liwen's meaning and chimed in with a laugh. "Brother Lin, you ought to have Yaoyao buy you a few decent outfits. Going out like this is embarrassing!"

"She bought them. I didn't wear them." Wei Zhao smiled. He had naturally caught their meaning and replied mildly. Gu Mengyao had indeed bought him clothes, but when he went to school he usually wore his uniform.

"Taizao, what Brother Lin has is called keeping a low profile! How does that saying go? Playing the pig to eat the tiger!" An Liwen explained with a smile.

"Right, right! Playing the pig to eat the tiger! Low-key showing off!" Su Taizao nodded along.

The two of them were of course speaking ironically; in their eyes, Wei Zhao could not pull off any kind of act even if he tried.

Wei Zhao offered no explanation. Laugh it up, he thought. In a moment I'll have you crying.

An Liwen got off a few jibes at Wei Zhao's expense, venting the resentment that had been pent up inside him. He did not dare go too far, though, for fear Wei Zhao would lose his temper and stalk off. So before Wei Zhao could say a word, he raised a hand and summoned the waiter to serve the dishes.

The dishes had been ordered in advance. Before leaving Gu Mengyao's villa, An Liwen had phoned the hotel to have everything prepared ahead of time. So once he gave the waiter the word, one delicacy after another came marching out and was laid upon the table.

An Liwen stealthily pressed the record button on his phone. Placing the phone on the table had been deliberate; he had taken care to angle its camera at Wei Zhao, meaning to capture the fellow's humiliation.

In An Liwen's eyes, Wei Zhao had surely never tasted such rare delicacies as these. If he ate like a pig at a trough, the footage could be sent around as a laughingstock.

That, of course, was not the main event. The real highlight was the little show he had arranged for later.

"Brother Lin, make yourself at home. There are only three of us, so let's not stand on ceremony. Time to dig in!" An Liwen raised his glass. "Here, let me toast you. Last time you saved my life, so I won't waste words on thanks. It's all in the cup!"

"It was nothing, and it was Yaoyao's instruction anyway." Wei Zhao lifted his glass in turn, took a token sip, and set it down again. Then he began to eat, slowly and unhurriedly.

Seeing that Wei Zhao did not wolf down his food the way he had imagined, An Liwen was rather disappointed. But then he thought of the fine entertainment still to come and settled his mind. "Brother Lin, how about we call a few girls in to liven things up? Three grown men drinking by ourselves is a pretty dull affair!"
