Chapter 4770 — Restaurant Clash

The Blossom Guardian · Page 2 of 2

"That's right. Even if we don't kill you outright, we have ten thousand ways to make you wish you were dead. Care to have your eyes opened today?" Li Yuzhou added with a savage grin. The two of them had already resolved to trample Wei Zhao as a show of loyalty to Ren Zhongyuan—after all, their humiliation over the photograph had come about because of this very fellow, so this was the perfect chance to settle both scores at once.

With that, the two reached out to seize Wei Zhao by the collar. Weak as they were, Ren Zhongyuan and his companions were right nearby, and they simply refused to believe Wei Zhao would dare resist—and if he did, that would give Ren Zhongyuan the perfect excuse to strike, and the boy would only die worse.

But Wei Zhao did not stir at all; he merely flicked them a cold glance, and at once the two felt a surge of true qi invade their bodies. Their knees went numb as if pounded with a pestle, and with a thud they dropped to their knees—right in front of Wei Zhao.

"Oh? Repenting so soon? Is everyone at your academy this warm and hospitable? Well, now I've really seen something!" Wei Zhao smiled faintly, and beside him Huo Yudie and Ning Xuefei could not help exchanging a smile.

Li Yuzhou and Sun Baolu were scared out of their wits, cursing their own folly. During the trial they had not witnessed the scene where Wei Zhao sent Scarface flying with a single slap; now they had felt it firsthand. What kind of soft target was this? He was a veritable god of calamity!

"What are you two doing? Get up!" Ren Zhongyuan was furious at the sight. He had no idea the two had been quietly put in their place by Wei Zhao and assumed they had simply been cowed by the other man's presence. For his lackeys to be so spineless—where did that leave his face as their leader?

At these words Li Yuzhou and Sun Baolu were on the verge of tears. If they could stand, why on earth would they still be kneeling? They stole a trembling glance at Wei Zhao, then gritted their teeth and scrambled and rolled their way back to Ren Zhongyuan's side, stammering, "Brother... Brother Ren, there's something queer about this kid—he played dirty with us!"

"What?!" Ren Zhongyuan was startled, but rather than showing any wariness, he felt he had found his opening. His expression turned hostile as he rose and strode toward Wei Zhao. He refused to believe Wei Zhao would dare lift a hand against him—unless the boy truly had a death wish.

Seeing Ren Zhongyuan on the verge of making his move, Wei Zhao sat there perfectly at ease, still chatting and laughing with the two women as though no one else existed. Neither Huo Yudie nor Ning Xuefei showed the slightest nervousness; after all, no one knew Wei Zhao's strength better than they did. If Ren Zhongyuan dared to act, he would only bring humiliation on himself—there was nothing to worry about at all.

"Hmph, you really think I don't dare touch you? Sorry to tell you, you've miscalculated. Today I intend to teach you a lesson on the Western Isle's behalf, so that you don't go to the Eastern Continent and make enemies for them with your utter lack of manners." Ren Zhongyuan gave a cold laugh, then raised his hand and swung a slap at Wei Zhao's face.

But in that instant Wei Zhao moved—striking last, arriving first. He did not go for Ren Zhongyuan directly; without a word he simply flipped the table. Ning Xuefei had gathered a great deal of soup and broth and had barely gotten a few sips of it. Now it flew up and landed fair and square all over Ren Zhongyuan's face.

For a moment everyone present was dumbstruck, and Ren Zhongyuan himself stood there dazed, staring blankly at the steaming broth and soup drenching him, unsure how to react.

But before he could even erupt, Wei Zhao was already trembling all over...
