Chapter 3460 — Kun Cun's Terror

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

So Wei Zhao decided to test the waters first. Without a word, he unleashed the sixteenth stance of the Frenzied Fire Fist! He had no intention of killing Pu Nimei outright, since the man's defenses were likely formidable, and so he did not resort to his strongest technique, the Frenzied Fire Eight Trigrams Palm.

"Boom!"

The Frenzied Fire Fist slammed into Pu Nimei's body, and yet Pu Nimei only staggered back half a step, showing no real injury whatsoever. Wei Zhao was momentarily taken aback, and then he understood! Just as he had expected!

Pu Nimei's defensive power was terrifying. Even at full strength, Wei Zhao might not be able to kill him—for this man could no longer be counted as a normal cultivator. He was a modified breed, and Wei Zhao could not judge him by the knowledge and common sense of ordinary cultivators.

"Is that all you've got?" Pu Nimei sneered, looking at Wei Zhao. "With that little skill, you'd best forget about leaving this place alive today!"

Pu Nimei had no idea Wei Zhao was merely probing. In his eyes, Wei Zhao—a top expert at the peak of the mid Heaven rank—was already impressive to be able to unleash the seventeenth stance! The power of the sixteenth stance of the Frenzied Fire Fist, he judged, was roughly equal to an ordinary martial technique's seventeenth stance.

"Sect Master Kun Cun, why don't the two of us exchange a few moves first," Wei Zhao said mildly, turning to look at Kun Cun, and simply abandoning his assault on Pu Nimei. Though he might be able to kill Pu Nimei if he unleashed his strongest move, that was only a possibility, not a certainty.

If he failed to kill Pu Nimei, a Wei Zhao drained of stamina and true qi would be in grave danger. So Wei Zhao shifted his target to Kun Cun instead.

"Huh?" Kun Cun was taken aback. What the hell was Wei Zhao playing at? Why was he upsetting his plan? This made no sense!

Normally, when cultivators fought, whoever had engaged whom fought on until victory was decided. Who ever heard of breaking off halfway and demanding a switch of opponents? Who the hell did he think this was—a tournament with substitutions?

"What's the matter? Is Sect Master Kun's strength so lacking that he dares not face me?" Wei Zhao said with a half-smile, his tone mocking.

"How could that be?" Kun Cun's face flushed scarlet on the spot! Yet Wei Zhao had hit the mark—for all his overwhelming attack power, Kun Cun's weak defenses meant he dared not fight Wei Zhao head-on, only strike from the shadows. "It's merely that this sect master disdains to soil his own hands on a minnow like you!"

"Since you've come, whether you strike or not is no longer up to you," Wei Zhao said with a cold laugh, then shot a meaningful glance at Ergoudan.

"Ai yo, this place is too scary—I've got to get out of here fast!" Ergoudan shouted and bolted for the door.

Just then Pu Nimei happened to be standing not far from the doorway. Kun Cun knitted his brows slightly. If Wei Zhao truly meant to fight him, his chances of winning were slim; he had to force Wei Zhao to submit, to make Wei Zhao fight Pu Nimei so that he could launch a sneak attack from the side!

Kun Cun's eyes darted about and lit upon Ergoudan, who was about to flee. At once he chuckled with a heh-heh and came up with a plan. "Deputy Sect Master Pu, seize that boy! Don't let him get away!"

"Understood!" Pu Nimei nodded and lunged for Ergoudan.

"Wei Zhao, if you fight Deputy Sect Master Pu properly, according to the rules, then I can spare your friends and your captured classmates. Otherwise, you'll have only yourself to blame for what happens to this friend of yours!" Kun Cun threatened Wei Zhao coldly. After all, Wei Zhao was a first-rate expert at the peak of the mid Heaven rank with no small strength; even though Kun Cun was an evil cultivator, whether he could actually beat Wei Zhao was still an open question.
