Chapter 3215 — Liu Tianli's Repentance

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

Han Jingyi had gone back to rest, and while waiting for Liu Tianli to arrive, Wei Zhao quietly mulled over what Liu Jinghan had told him. All the clues so far indicated that his master and those peak late Heaven-Rank experts who had left with the ancient sects must have gone off to do the same thing.

As for what that thing actually was, Han Jingyi had no clear idea. Old Man Wei, though, probably knew—he simply hadn't told him. What could this matter possibly be?

From Han Jingyi's tone, it seemed that even those experts couldn't handle it, and his help would still be needed. But if experts at the great-perfection peak of late Heaven-Rank couldn't settle it, could Wei Zhao?

Wei Zhao did not believe he had any such ability. He knew his own limits: all that talk of instantly killing peak late Heaven-Rank experts was pure bluster. In truth, it was the men of the Blood-Robed Yellow Springs Sect who had done the killing—it had nothing to do with Wei Zhao at all.

Still, since he had thought it over for ages without reaching any conclusion, Wei Zhao simply stopped dwelling on it. He shook his head. Better to take things one step at a time.

"Elder Jiao, do you happen to know about my master, and about Sun Jichuan and the others?" Back inside the jade pendant's space, Wei Zhao sought out Elder Jiao.

"I know a little, but not clearly. And your level is still too low, your clearance insufficient—my memories have not been unlocked, so I cannot answer your question," Jiao Yazi said.

"Good grief." Hearing Elder Jiao's formulaic reply, Wei Zhao was truly at a loss, though by now he was used to it—Elder Jiao always spoke this way.

One thing Wei Zhao could be certain of, however: Jiao Yazi knew Sun Jichuan, and there had to be some connection between them. At this moment, Wei Zhao felt as though he had walked into a trap—an elaborately laid trap. Not that anyone meant him harm; rather, ever since he had come to Songshan City, an invisible hand seemed to be steering the course of his life.

Or perhaps "steering" was the wrong word—everything he had now had been designed in advance by that person. Thinking about it now, this person was truly formidable. Yet Wei Zhao was not worried, because whoever had laid the trap must have done so with his master and Old Man Wei taking part. Those two were the closest people in his life; they would never harm him.

The decisions these people made could only have been meant to set Wei Zhao on the road to success. Looking back now, along this journey his strength had soared at tremendous speed—that could only be a good thing.

From Han Jingyi's words, Wei Zhao had guessed the gist of the matter; he just dared not be certain.

Of course, all this guessing was useless for the moment. After all, whether it was Han Jingyi or Jiao Yazi, both knew only a vague outline. Han Jingyi simply had no idea at all, while Jiao Yazi, lacking the strength and the clearance to unlock his memories, was—to put it plainly—no more than a phantom, like a computer program, his settings fixed and unchangeable, only somewhat more human.

The only one who truly knew was Old Man Wei, and he had kept the secret all along, refusing to reveal the truth. So for now, Wei Zhao could only let it go.

But once, twice—never a third time. This time, Liu Tianli had no idea whether Wei Zhao would let him off. If the shoe were on the other foot, if it were Liu Tianli himself, he certainly would not easily forgive someone who had sold out the company's interests.

"Mr. Lin..." Seeing Wei Zhao come out, Liu Tianli was nervous and fearful. He knew that Wei Zhao need only lift a finger to destroy him—and the Liu family with him. The Liu family might look glorious now, but if Wei Zhao cast them off, the walls would fall and everyone would push—his allies were many, and all of them would gladly throw stones.
