Chapter 3009 — Tang Zhi's Coldness

The Blossom Guardian · Page 2 of 2

"Then these two are swindlers?" The Grand Elder nodded. "Then I shall have these two frauds taught a lesson and driven from the Snow Valley!"

"Wait!" Something seemed to strike Tang Zhi. "Let me go and see them first."

"Very well, go then. They are in the reception hall. I won't come along—just handle it as you see fit," the Grand Elder said to Tang Zhi.

"Understood." Tang Zhi rose and left the room, heading toward the reception hall.

The Grand Elder had actually been quite pleased with Tang Zhi of late. Wei Zhao had come before, yet Tang Zhi had not acknowledged him, nor had she done anything untoward, which had set the Grand Elder's mind at ease.

Her only worry was that Tang Zhi had encountered an obstacle in her cultivation of the Heartless Art! If the Heartless Art were not cultivated to its utmost, then in the end there would be no crossing the chasm between the peak of late Heaven-rank and Great Perfection!

Though the Grand Elder herself was at the peak of late Heaven-rank, infinitely close to Great Perfection, she was not Great Perfection after all! And though Tang Zhi was an inheritor, beneath the Heavenly Dao no level barrier existed for her—yet between the peak of late Heaven-rank and Great Perfection of the peak of late Heaven-rank, there was no level barrier at all!

It was a matter of accumulated strength and the cultivator's own enlightenment, having nothing to do with level barriers. If the Heartless Art could not be raised in rank, that final step would simply never be taken—and that was what worried the Grand Elder most.

Tang Zhi made her way to the reception hall and at a glance saw Tang Lingtou and Tang Yuyu, surrounded on all sides by Snow Valley disciples. She had vaguely guessed it would be these two, but seeing them with her own eyes, a complex look still flickered across her face.

"Snow Valley disciples, all of you may leave," Tang Zhi waved a hand and said to the assembled disciples in the room.

"Yes, Elder Tang!" Seeing Tang Zhi arrive, the disciples all withdrew from the reception hall with respectful bows.

And now, in the reception hall, only three remained: Tang Lingtou, Tang Yuyu, and Tang Zhi.

"Tang Zhi! I never imagined you'd be this formidable—already an elder of the Snow Valley! As your father, I'm truly happy and proud for you!" Tang Lingtou did not know how to begin. He stewed for a long while before managing to get out this sentence.

Of course, had these words been spoken between any other father and daughter, they would have been utterly ordinary. But placed in the mouths of Tang Zhi and Tang Lingtou, they were truly somewhat absurd.

"What have you come for?" Apart from that flicker of complexity at the door, Tang Zhi's face had already returned to its indifferent mask. She had cultivated the Heartless Art, and her whole being was cold and icy; even facing Wei Zhao, her aura would not change.

Tang Zhi did not wish it so, but there was no help for it—such was the nature of the mnemonic. The more diligently she cultivated it, the more her very aura would transform.

Tang Zhi's coldness unsettled Tang Lingtou somewhat. Watching her indifferent demeanor, he put on a fawning smile and said, "Tang Zhi, I know that at your grandfather's birthday feast before, I was in the wrong. I've come here specially to apologize to you..." (To be continued.
