Chapter 2939 — Kang Jingming's Poison Formula

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

"Jingjing in charge? Fine, I understand." Liu Zhenhu nodded to show he had taken it in, and said nothing more.

Liu Tianyi, for his part, was taken aback. He thought to himself, When did my father become so inscrutable?

Wei Zhao's decision left everyone around him—Fatty Lai included—staring in disbelief! Not punishing the Liu family was one thing, but letting them keep handling the Guan Daifu Pharmaceuticals business? How much favor must Wei Zhao hold for the Liu family!

Still, it was Wei Zhao's decision. Even if Fatty Lai harbored doubts, he dared not question it. And so, of the one and a half billion allotted to him, a hundred million was once again transferred to the Liu family's account, to help their company rise from the ashes.

A hundred million against one and a half billion was a rather small proportion, but on the Liu family's side, the return of their genius girl Liu Jinghan lifted spirits enormously—especially among the old employees who had once built the empire at her side. Even with no salary or bonus for the time being, they were willing to follow Liu Jinghan and build it all over again!

Back then, Liu Jinghan had single-handedly built the Liu family enterprise into something great, and they had absolute faith in her. It was no different now!

At last these matters were settled, and Wei Zhao could breathe easy for a moment! And so he finally returned to campus life, settling back into the three-point routine of school, cafeteria, and home...

"You're back!" Wang Xinyan's heart leapt with gladness to see Wei Zhao appear in the classroom, though her face kept its faint, gentle smile.

"Mm, I'm back. How has your health been lately? Nothing wrong, I hope?" Wei Zhao asked.

"No, ever since I took that spirit medicine last time, there haven't been any problems." Wang Xinyan shook her head.

"That's good." Wei Zhao breathed a sigh of relief, yet deep down he remained profoundly worried. Wang Xinyan's current condition was only temporary—there was no telling how long it would hold. The jade pendant on her person had already lost its power, and Wei Zhao had to find a replacement solution before the effects of the Lanjie Yuling Grass wore off. Otherwise, the problem with Wang Xinyan's body would remain a time bomb that could take her life at any moment!

Wei Zhao sat down in his familiar seat, and on instinct glanced back—only to find that Han Jingyi was no longer there! Before, every day before class, Wei Zhao would reflexively look to see what Han Jingyi was doing. But now...

He wondered what that invention of Han Jingyi's was—the pill-refining method in her seclusion research that was supposed to succeed one hundred percent of the time.

"Kang Jinglong hasn't been bothering you again lately, has he?" Wei Zhao asked once he was seated.

"No, he hasn't. He did call me once, though, to ask about my health," Wang Xinyan said.

"And what did you tell him?" Wei Zhao asked.

"Just the truth. After you helped me get that spirit medicine, my health hasn't had any problems at all," Wang Xinyan said.

"That's all he said?" Wei Zhao found it rather strange—Kang Jinglong calls, and all he talks about is such empty chatter?

"There was also... he asked where I've been living lately..." Wang Xinyan's cheeks flushed slightly. Annoying as she found the question, she was still nominally Kang Jinglong's fiancée, and there was nothing she could do about it.

"Heh heh, I knew it—Kang Jinglong wouldn't be so bored. So that was his real purpose." Wei Zhao's face lit with understanding. "Seems he still hasn't given up!"

But then again, given his present standing, of course he wouldn't give up. He had a brother who was an elder of the Xuandan Sect—a most illustrious connection! Never mind that he liked Wang Xinyan; even if he didn't, he could never easily bow to a lone cultivator like Wei Zhao.
