"That's right, that kind of inheritance." White Leader nodded. "An inheritor's insight-inheritance wouldn't require such effort—one need only go to the place where the attribute originates and comprehend it there. I wouldn't have needed to trouble you with a phone call at all."
"There are two ways to inherit source power. The first is the orthodox path: one must make a whole series of complicated preparations, then, after taking the Marrow-Cleansing Bone-Forging Pill, go to the place of inheritance to receive the source power. The preparations are an extremely complex process. If you wish to know them, Eldest Senior Brother, I will copy them out as quickly as I can, compile them into a volume, and find a chance to mail it to you," Xuanzhen said.
"Good. Then be careful." White Leader spoke with gratitude. For Xuanzhen to do this was still very dangerous. Though the Ancestor Xuanzhen could come and go freely in the Five Luminaries Sect's scripture pavilion and consult the books within, to secretly copy out the secret manual of source-power inheritance and mail it away without anyone being the wiser would be difficult beyond measure.
From what Xuanzhen said, the situation in the Five Luminaries Sect was now essentially one in which the Ancestor Xuanchen covered the sky with a single hand; his eyes and ears were everywhere. If the Ancestor Xuanzhen truly meant to pull off such a feat of deception, he would have to pay a great price in toil.
For instance, memorizing a passage each day and copying it down after returning home—for if he simply took the book away, Xuanchen would certainly grow suspicious. Why would Xuanzhen, who devoted himself wholly to pill refining, suddenly take an interest in matters of inheritance? When something is out of the ordinary, there must be something strange behind it; White Leader understood this well.

"By the way, what is the other method of inheritance?" White Leader asked.
"The other method belongs to the crooked paths. But it is also a shortcut!" Xuanzhen said. "That is to have an illusory-attribute person engage in dual cultivation with an inheritor of that line, and through dual cultivation obtain the inheritance of source power. The drawback of this method is that the inheritor must be a virgin; otherwise it has no effect at all."
"Oh? Source power can be inherited that way too?" White Leader was somewhat surprised. "Is this method reliable?"
"It should be reliable. That is how the sect's ancient texts record it. The reason I remember is that Xuanchen once studied this area—matters concerning inheritors are all handled by Xuanchen," Xuanzhen said. "But though this method is simple, it is hardly practical. First of all, all the inheritors we know of are currently giving priority to that plan, so finding other inheritors on your end would be extremely difficult.
