Kang Jinglong said with a cold laugh. "My fiancée is living under the same roof as another man. If I do not call off the engagement, what else am I to do?"
Kang Jinglong had come here to make a scene precisely to seize the initiative and preserve his own face. Whether he made the scene first or was forced into making it was an entirely different matter. If he made the first move, the Xiao family would do everything to make amends. But if the affair were spread first and he then made a scene, he would merely look shrill and desperate.
"This... I fear there must be some misunderstanding in all this?" Xiao Ben said. "This video shows a group of men and women going to a villa—perhaps they were paying a visit or having a party?"
"What party? An orgy?" Kang Jinglong glared. "That is Wei Zhao's villa to begin with. Gu Mengyao and Shen Yushu live there. And now Wang Xinyan has followed them into the villa—what are they playing at? Moreover, this morning I saw Wang Xinyan being carried into school in Wei Zhao's arms, and once at school she slept the whole morning. Clearly she had not slept all night. What did she do all night? Can you guess?"
"Uh..." Xiao Ben was stunned, his expression somewhat ugly. Though in his heart he had already confirmed something, he still said, "Young Master Kang, do not be hasty in this matter. Perhaps it is a misunderstanding. Allow me to go and ask just what happened?"
"Fine then. Go and fetch her. I will be waiting right here. I want to see whether there is any misunderstanding in this!" Kang Jinglong plopped himself down on the living-room sofa and said with a cold laugh.
"Very well, Young Master Kang. Please rest a while, and I will go fetch her at once and get to the bottom of this!" Xiao Ben said as he walked toward the inner rooms.
Watching the direction in which Xiao Ben departed, Kang Jinglong gave a cold snort. He knew Xiao Ben meant to find Wang Xinyan and get their stories straight, but he did not care. If there truly was nothing between Wang Xinyan and Wei Zhao, then he would naturally keep pressuring the Xiao family to make Wang Xinyan be with him.
And if there was something between Wang Xinyan and Wei Zhao, then he would likewise force Wang Xinyan to be with him—but once he had grown tired of playing with her, he would cast her aside, and in so doing humiliate Wei Zhao. So no matter how things turned out, Kang Jinglong had thought through his countermeasures on the way here, and he was utterly fearless.
After Xiao Ben reached the room in the inner quarters, he quickly dialed Xiao Qinlin's number. When he went to find Wang Xinyan, he feared she would ignore him and give him no pleasant face, so he could only reach Wang Xinyan through Xiao Qinlin.
"Second Brother, is something the matter?" Xiao Qinlin asked after picking up. Though her relationship with Xiao Ji and Xiao Ben had eased somewhat of late, it was only on the surface. She had never stopped brooding over the matter of Xiao Ji and Xiao Ben forcing Wang Xinyan to marry Kang Jinglong.
"Qinlin, Wang Xinyan has landed herself in trouble! Great trouble!" Xiao Ben tried to frighten her outright. "The Kang family now wants to wipe out our Xiao family, and as for you and Wang Xuben over there, they certainly will not spare him either!"
"Ah? What do you mean? What trouble could Xinyan have landed in? And why would the Kang family want to wipe us out?" Xiao Qinlin was startled and somewhat dazed, not knowing what had happened.
