Yuqi soon delivered Yushan and reported, "Patriarch, Yushan is here. After we found him, we took no measures—we checked and confirmed Young Master Yushan was uninjured, and we did not wake him..."
"Mm." Yuxiaocheng nodded and applied a few massage techniques to Yushan's body. Yushan slowly came to, blinking his eyes open in some confusion, and the next moment he suddenly cried out, "This is bad, save her, quick! Someone has abducted little sister Yuning!"
"What!" Yuxiaocheng was startled, his eyes going wide as he stared at Yushan. "What happened? Where did Yuning go? Who took her?"
"Ah, Uncle, go save little sister Yuning, quick! Some villains carried her off!" Yushan struggled to climb up from the stretcher.
"Don't get so worked up. Tell me slowly—what exactly happened?" Seeing Yushan's incoherent speech, Yuxiaocheng frowned and asked.
"Ah... it was like this. Little sister Yuning was pushing me around near the back mountain when two people suddenly appeared, knocked me out, and then carried little sister Yuning away..." Yushan said.
"What people? What did those two look like, and which direction did they run?" Yuxiaocheng frowned and asked.
"Those two... one old, one young. I didn't recognize the old one, but the young one seemed to be Wei Zhao... I can't be sure, it all happened too fast. The young one grabbed Yuning, and the old one struck me, and I blacked out and knew nothing more..." Yushan said. "As for which direction they went, I don't know either. I was unconscious—I didn't see clearly."
"What? Wei Zhao?" Yuxiaocheng was stunned. He had not expected Wei Zhao to be the one behind this!
In truth, Yushan was merely muddying the waters here, his purpose being to send the Hidden Rain family in the wrong direction and buy time for Zhao Qibing! He had said it *seemed* to be Wei Zhao, not that he was certain. Even if Yuxiaocheng eventually learned the truth, Yushan could always excuse himself by saying he had not seen clearly.
"It seemed to be Wei Zhao... but I'm not certain either. Uncle, you know I'm an invalid and can barely move. I only caught a glimpse from the side, so I didn't see clearly," Yushan said.
"Yuqi, search for me! Search the whole town, then send men to watch the highway entrances of the neighboring cities to find any trace of Yuning!" Yuxiaocheng ordered.
"Yes!" Yuqi acknowledged the order.
Yuxiaocheng somewhat regretted not having given Yuning a cell phone; then at least he could have used its location tracking. But that was no longer an option now—he had no leads at all, and Yushan had been unconscious for some time. Whether they could even intercept Wei Zhao was now in question.
Under the circumstances, Yuxiaocheng had no time to doubt Yushan. Instead, he dashed quickly toward the mountain peak. This matter had gone beyond his control and his authority to decide. If Yuning were merely his daughter, he could have made the call himself, but Yuning's status was special—the Rain family's old ancestor had to render the final judgment.
The Rain family's old ancestor had just returned to his place of secluded cultivation and had only just begun cultivating when he heard Yuxiaocheng's frantic shouting from outside: "Father, something's happened—something terrible has happened!"
