After all, they had decades of ties with the Yu family. Ever since Old Master Yu's father had taken him, then a young man, traveling, they had forged their bond. One might say the Hidden Yu family was their mouthpiece at the hidden level.
"Ah... also a water-element inheritor?" Old Master Yu was stunned, his heart bleeding.
"No." The other answered definitively. "Think no more of it—this differs from an ordinary water-element inheritance! I can only disclose the rough outline; knowing too much of the specifics will do you no good! Yu Ning has another arrangement. The Master has already found a way to probe the Endless Western Sea. That is the birthplace of the ancient water-element inheritance, and we intend to send Yu Ning there!"
"Ah? If it is not the water-element inheritance, why go so far when there is a nearer way? There is no conflict..." Old Master Yu breathed a sigh of relief, yet felt puzzled as well.
"Because of certain unavoidable incidents, the rules of this trial have been changed." The other did not hide it. "The conditions for this trial have been altered from the former limit—Mystic rank and above, Earth rank and below—to Mystic rank and above, with no upper limit!"
"What! Mystic rank and above, no upper limit? Then if experts above Earth rank go there, would that not draw..." Old Master Yu was startled, badly frightened!
"Yu Tianxing, some things you need only understand yourself. Do not breathe a word of them." The other's tone carried a warning. "By now you should understand: we keep Yu Ning away for her own safety. This trial is too dangerous—if she came here at her current strength, she would die without question! Besides, this trial serves another purpose. Yu Ning matters greatly, so she goes to the Endless Western Sea instead!"
"I understand!" Though deeply shocked, Old Master Yu suppressed his questions and nodded. "I know what to do!"
"Good. Protect Yu Ning and the other girl well. Let there be no mishap!" the other warned. "And the Master instructed specifically: she must remain a virgin! On no account may she be deflowered—otherwise, Yu Tianxing, you know the consequences!"
"Yes! Rest assured, Ancestor Xuanchen. Tianxing will not fail this trust!" Old Master Yu said in fear and trembling.
"That is all, then!" The other hung up.
Old Master Yu, however, clutched the phone, his heart unable to settle for a long while. By a hair, the Yu family had nearly missed its shot at glory—but now it seemed the outcome was still good. Since Ancestor Xuanchen had reminded him that Yu Ning must remain a virgin, it showed they truly still needed her—and that she was to go to the Endless Western Sea, an even mightier birthplace of the water-element inheritance, to receive it. At that thought, Old Master Yu breathed easier.
Only, this one phone call had settled a resolve in Old Master Yu's heart: to do away with Wei Zhao! If Wei Zhao were not removed, some uncontrollable thing might well erupt—what if he spirited Yu Ning away, or deflowered her? Then Old Master Yu would have nowhere to go even to weep. RQ
