Chapter 2161 — Bidding Farewell to the Spirit Beast

The Blossom Guardian · Page 2 of 2

After Wei Zhao left the council hall with Han Xiaohu and Han Tianba, they first returned to their temporary lodgings, then brought the Wind-Thunder Violet-Lightning Beast along to the parking lot and got into the Mercedes S600 they had arrived in. The beast was too large to ride in the car, but its speed rivaled the wind itself, so there was no problem letting it run alongside the vehicle!

Moreover, it was night, and from the outside the Wind-Thunder Violet-Lightning Beast looked like a large horse, so it would not draw too much attention. They passed out of the Zhao family manor and reached the private road at its gate. They had not gone far when the road ahead was blocked by barricades!

Wei Zhao frowned. So they had made their move after all. Had his little ploy of sowing discord failed to achieve the intended effect? Had Elder Zhao and Elder Yu not fallen to quarreling?

But when Wei Zhao had Han Xiaohu stop the car and looked carefully at the two figures behind the barricade, he laughed. The two who had come were, unexpectedly, the two least threatening of them all: Master Wo of the Qianshan Sect and Diamond of the Jinzhong Sect.

"What fine spirits you two masters are in—not going home to rest so late at night, but coming here to see us off?" Wei Zhao stepped out of the car, glanced at the two men ahead, and asked in a flat, indifferent tone.

"Indeed, we've come precisely to see you off!" Master Wo had long since prepared his story. "This Wind-Thunder Violet-Lightning Beast is the guardian spirit beast of our Qianshan Sect. Though it goes with you now, our bond runs deep. Am I not permitted to come and bid it farewell?"

"Bid the Wind-Thunder Violet-Lightning Beast farewell?" Wei Zhao was slightly taken aback and furrowed his brow, unable to fathom what Master Wo was up to. If he had said he meant to block them here and finish Wei Zhao off, Wei Zhao would have believed it—but saying he had come to bid the beast farewell, why did it sound so very odd?

"Indeed. We've been old companions for many years. But I said before, didn't I, that whatever troubles befall this Wind-Thunder Violet-Lightning Beast are its own affair. Since it has chosen you and will return with you, I must at least say goodbye to it, mustn't I?" Master Wo nodded as though it were the most natural thing in the world.

"Oh—well, suppose you have come to see it off. What about you, Master Jin? Surely you haven't come to bid farewell too?" Wei Zhao turned to Diamond and asked.
