Chapter 1966 — Utterly Dejected. How Is This Only a Little Gain? This Is Quite a Bountiful Harvest!

Of course, there were some secrets Wei Zhao could never disclose, even to Uncle Qing. The matter of the jade pendant space, he could not reveal to anyone for the time being. It was not that he distrusted them; it was simply that his strength had not yet reached that level. If Wei Zhao were already an expert at the late-stage pinnacle of the Celestial Rank, he would not have concealed it from Uncle Qing.
"Then hurry up and check!" Uncle Qing immediately stretched out his hand.
"All right." Seeing how anxious Uncle Qing was, Wei Zhao said no more and went straight to examining the condition of Uncle Qing's true qi. After a moment, a satisfied expression appeared on Wei Zhao's face. "No mistake — it's the true qi in Granny Sun's head."
"There are two ways. The first is for me to force Granny Sun's true qi out of her body. It's feasible, but my control over it is not yet very polished," Wei Zhao said honestly. At the second layer of the Xuan Yuan Dragon-Taming Art, all he could manage for now was a fairly smooth circulation; mastery was still far away. Forcing out his own fire-poison true qi was already difficult enough — applying that method to Granny Sun, he really did not have much confidence.
"And the second way?" Uncle Qing hastily asked.
"The second way is relatively conservative. Nothing dangerous will happen, but the effect may be slow — it won't be accomplished in a day or two," Wei Zhao said. "Granny Sun would restart practicing the Sun family's inner-energy technique. Once she masters it, she'll be able to dissolve the true qi on her own."
"Mm... Let's go with the second, then!" After a brief moment of hesitation, Uncle Qing chose the second way without further hesitation. It was conservative, after all, and free of danger. Though slower, Uncle Qing had already waited so many years; a little more time was not worth fussing over. If something went wrong with the first way, regret would be too late.
"Heh, I'd actually suggest the second way too," Wei Zhao said. "I've obtained the Sun family's cultivation method already — it's in my phone, and I'll forward it to you in a while. But although this is the method Granny Sun practiced in the past, it's best not to let it spread around. After all, I got it from Sun Jingyan..."
"I understand!" Uncle Qing nodded. "Even if you hadn't said that, I wouldn't go around telling people. After all, this involves the enemies we had back then. If they found out that Luo Yue and I were both still alive, they'd certainly come looking for us again — and none of us is a match for those people..."
Wei Zhao said no more. He sent Uncle Qing the document Sun Jingyan had sent to his phone, then went back to his room to rest.
Back in his room, Wei Zhao could not wait to open the refining method for the jade pendant. This was a version he had transcribed himself; the original had been left at Xixing Mountain Village and not brought over.
For now, the pure yellow jade was already in hand, but there was still no news of the colored steel and blue crystal powder.
Wei Zhao had not studied the refining method closely before. But now that the pure yellow jade was secured, he felt his heart stir with eagerness, and he began to scrutinize the method in earnest.
What puzzled Wei Zhao, however, was that the refining method did not list specific amounts of pure yellow jade, blue crystal powder, or colored steel. Without quantities, how was he supposed to gather the materials?
At the thought, Wei Zhao could not help asking, "Elder Jiao, exactly how much material is needed to refine the jade pendant?"
"As much as you have is as much as it takes," Elder Jiao said airily.
"As much as I have is as much as it takes? What does that mean?" Wei Zhao did not quite understand Jiao Yazi's meaning.
"The more material you have, the larger the storage space you refine will be. What's so hard to understand about that?" Jiao Yazi explained in a relaxed tone.
