When the banquet ended, Mother Tang clutched the keys and the bank card in her hands, and the more she looked at them, the more she liked them. She hummed a little tune, beside herself with joy.
Watching her mother carry on like that, Bingtang truly did not know what to say. Still, she had to admit she admired her mother's negotiating prowess. If the Ice Palace ever needed to cut a deal with someone again, they could just send Mother Tang to the table and rest assured she would wring out the greatest possible profit.
"Ah, they fill your mouth so you can't speak, they put it in your hand so you can't refuse. You took the car and you took the house. Won't that just make trouble for Tangtang later on?" Tang Jucheng was thinking further ahead. You took advantage of them here, but in the end, would it not fall to Bingtang to repay it all on their behalf?
Bingtang could not possibly make any promises to the Hidden Tang Family just because of two hundred million.
"See, Tangtang has spoken, so it must be fine!" Mother Tang said. "Tomorrow I'll find an agent to sell this house. Once Old Master Tang's birthday is over, we're out of here!"
"What? Sell it?" Tang Jucheng was even more dumbfounded. Why would they sell this house too?
"If we don't sell it, are we keeping it to breed little houses? Who in their right mind would come live out here? Did you really think I wanted a car? Our new home is perfectly comfortable. What would we come all the way out here for?" Mother Tang said. "We'll take the money and go, head back and enjoy life. Your mother is a rich woman now!"
"Haha!" Hearing her mother's words, Bingtang could not help but burst out laughing. Her mother really was endlessly amusing...
Meanwhile, in a room of the Hidden You Family, the Young Master You lay in bed, watching his uncle You Zhentian and his aunt You Xiaoxin enter with a pained and wary expression...
"What on earth happened? How did things blow up into such a mess? Who did you clash with? I go to one banquet and come back to find you like this?" You Zhentian, the head of the You Family, was furious. His nephew was far too good at stirring up trouble, wasn't he?
And stirring up trouble would have been one thing, but to be beaten to such a state—the Hidden You Family's face had been utterly wiped out!
"All right, Big Brother, let's not scold Xiaohu just yet. First, ask him what actually happened!" You Xiaoxin waved a hand. She was quite fond of You Panhu—Young Master You—this nephew of hers, fonder even than she was of You Zhentian's own son. That was precisely why You Zhentian had brought You Panhu along this time instead of his own boy.
But who would have thought this You Panhu was a walking disaster? The moment he arrived, he had gotten into a clash with someone!
"Uncle, Aunt, this isn't my fault—you have to stand up for me!" You Panhu said with a bitter face. "You all went off to dine, and we wanted to go out and get a bite ourselves, so we stepped out. At the entrance of a restaurant, I ran into an acquaintance—a girl I happen to have my eye on, actually—so I went over to say hello. But her brother-in-law blocked my way and spouted nonsense, telling me to get lost! I figured, I'm from the Hidden You Family, and I'm here for the Hidden Tang Family's birthday banquet, so I ought to keep a low profile, not draw attention. So I paid him no mind. And then he just struck out of nowhere and crippled my legs!"
"Is that really what happened? You're not lying?" You Zhentian frowned as he studied You Panhu.
"Everyone with me can vouch for it—you can ask them, Uncle!" Though You Panhu had laid it on a bit thick, the gist of it was true. The only stretch was that Tang Zhi was not really an acquaintance of his—but then, no one could testify about that part either way.
