"You're right!" Yu Bing clenched his jaw. "I will do my best!"
"Great men are not bound by trifles. Do not let your thoughts run on so. Leave it all to me." Wei Zhao said.
"By the way, are you confident you can handle them?" Yu Bing asked.
"Somewhat. But it will come down to seizing the moment as it comes. Fifty percent." Wei Zhao spoke the plain truth. "I have worked through several possibilities, and I hope one of them will serve."
"That is already very good!" Yu Bing let out a breath of relief. An even chance of victory or defeat was remarkable enough; between experts of comparable strength the outcome was always half and half, and no one could promise a sure win! All the more so now, when he and Wei Zhao were so hopelessly outmatched.
"Get some rest early. The trial begins tomorrow." Wei Zhao said.
"All right!" Yu Bing nodded and made to rise and take his leave.
"Sleep here. I fear Yu Shan may move against you tonight. This is his last chance to put you to death before the trial." Wei Zhao remembered the cold gleam that had been in Yu Shan's eyes earlier, and pointed to the bed beside him.
"And you? There is only a single bed here." Yu Bing asked.
"I don't sleep. I can cultivate sitting on the sofa." Wei Zhao said. "You sleep. Don't worry about the time. When the hour comes, I will wake you."
"Very well..." Yu Bing nodded without refusing.
That night, just as Wei Zhao had expected, Yu Shan and Feng Nitian crept on tiptoe to the door of the room next to Wei Zhao's.
"Brother Nitian, it all rests on you! In a moment you hold him fast, and then I will strike!" Yu Shan whispered to Feng Nitian beside him, a sinister coldness flashing through his eyes.
"No problem!" Feng Nitian nodded.

The reason was not that Feng Nitian was so righteous as to stand up for this newly acknowledged little brother of his. It was because Yu Shan had promised him that once he killed Yu Bing, he would have hope of contending for the position of head of the Yu family; and if he became that head, he would surely make the Yu family a vassal of the ancient Feng family!
