"Oh, so you're saying I should eat myself sick and end up in the hospital?" Wei Zhao said, gesturing at the feast spread across the table. "There really is a bit too much here - if I ate all of it, I'd probably wind up in the emergency room! Tell you what, let me call my girlfriend and have her come join us for the meal!"
What Wei Zhao had in mind was calling Feng Xiaoxiao. With all this delicious food on offer, she ought to come and enjoy it; otherwise it would truly be a waste.
"Huh?" Zhao Fafa froze at Wei Zhao's words. "Call your girlfriend?"
Wei Zhao's girlfriend - wasn't that Tang Zhi? Could it be that the kid had changed his mind and was volunteering to hand Tang Zhi over to him? The kid wasn't stupid after all; he just didn't want to lose face, so he had picked this roundabout way of giving Zhao Fafa what he wanted?
Yes, highly likely! Zhao Fafa felt his own IQ was simply breathtaking - he had sussed out Wei Zhao's thinking in a single leap. It seemed his threats were working; the kid was scared, only unwilling to swallow his pride.
"Hmph, at least you know your place! I thought you were hopeless. Hurry up and make the call - don't waste my time!" At the thought of Tang Zhi's exquisite figure, Zhao Fafa felt an itch start to crawl through him.
Wei Zhao did not bother to correct him. He simply picked up his phone and dialed Feng Xiaoxiao's number.
"Hubby Wei, where did you go? How come I came back from gym class and you were nowhere in sight?" Feng Xiaoxiao had just finished class herself and was wondering where on earth Wei Zhao had vanished to.
"Drive over to Overlord Fish Seafood Pavilion right now - someone's treating us to a seafood feast," Wei Zhao said. "A man named Sun booked the private room."
"Sure, I'll be right there!" Feng Xiaoxiao agreed at once. She lived for big feasts - especially free ones, and especially ones with Wei Zhao.
Wei Zhao had not driven over; his car was still parked at the school, and Feng Xiaoxiao kept a spare set of keys, so she could simply drive it here herself.
"Kid, you know the score. In that case, I won't beat you." Zhao Fafa waved his hand at the men crowding the private room. "Sit down and eat, all of you. This kid's no fool."
"Thanks, Brother Fa!" The moment they saw the seafood delicacies covering the table, the men's eyes went green. They had been stuck in another private room, doing nothing but sipping tea and waiting for orders, with nothing to eat at all - and in their daily lives food like this was far beyond their reach. Small wonder their eyes now glittered with hunger.
"Hold on!" Just as the men were about to sit down, Wei Zhao raised a hand and stopped them. "If they eat, what is my girlfriend supposed to do? Wouldn't her trip be for nothing?"
"Huh?" Zhao Fafa started, and had to admit the kid had a point. When Tang Zhi arrived shortly, how could she eat alongside such a boorish mob? Besides, Tang Zhi was about to become his woman, and that being the case, he ought all the more to treat her well!
"Fair enough, then you lot stand for a while - I'll treat you later." Zhao Fafa waved his hand, ordering Sun Xiaoxing's men to stay on their feet.
The men were disappointed, but none dared contradict Zhao Fafa; their money came out of his pocket at the best of times, so now they could only obey and shuffle off to one side.
Soon a knock came at the door of the private room. Zhao Fafa was thrilled - he had waited for Tang Zhi until he could barely stand it. With a wave of his hand, one of his men went and opened the door.
But the person who stepped in left Zhao Fafa momentarily stunned: it was not Tang Zhi, but another girl. Pretty enough, certainly, but these past days Tang Zhi had so addled Zhao Fafa's wits that he would not stop until he had his way.
"You are...?" Zhao Fafa stared at the newcomer with an odd expression, privately wondering whether she had knocked on the wrong door.
