Chapter 1200 — The Difference in Injuries

While chatting idly, Wei Zhao had pointed out the bond between Er Goudan and Yu Yuanyuan, and pointed out as well where Er Goudan's home village lay. This was a roundabout way of giving the Yu family a discreet heads-up, and in truth it was also meant for Yu Yuanyuan's ears.
Er Goudan, simple and honest as he was, was no fool. Hearing Wei Zhao's words, he cast him a grateful look! He knew Wei Zhao was helping him.
"Then I truly must trouble you!" Hearing Wei Zhao's words, Mother Yu breathed a sigh of relief as well. If Wei Zhao could say such a thing, he must have some confidence in it! Mother Yu knew Er Goudan's character; he was a man who never boasted, and his chief must likewise be an upright man, or Er Goudan would never have acknowledged him as chief.
Yu Yuanyuan, standing to one side, blushed at Wei Zhao's words. Though she and Er Goudan each harboured that feeling for the other, in the end they had never broken through the window paper. Now that Wei Zhao had spoken it aloud, Yu Yuanyuan was deeply embarrassed and bowed her head, not daring to look at Er Goudan.
Yet hearing that her mother had not contradicted Wei Zhao, Yu Yuanyuan was glad at heart, for it meant her mother approved of her being with Er Goudan!
After a while, Yunhai Shuku came in carrying several lunchboxes. Seeing Wei Zhao in the sickroom, he was briefly startled.
"Uncle Yu, this is my chief, Wei Zhao. He has come to treat Auntie!" Er Goudan introduced Wei Zhao's identity to Yunhai Shuku. "Uncle Yu, where are the X-rays? My chief wants to have a look!"
"Hello!" Yunhai Shuku hurriedly nodded to Wei Zhao and said politely: "I will go fetch the film right away. Please wait a moment..."
Yunhai Shuku, too, did not doubt Wei Zhao on account of his youth. Er Goudan was a steady man and would not do anything unreliable. Astonished as he was at how the boy had gotten in touch with Wei Zhao, now was plainly not the time to ask such things.
Yunhai Shuku found the X-rays and handed them to Wei Zhao, who drew them out and studied them carefully.
The leg bone had been bitten clean through; that is, the entire leg had been bitten off by the lion. Though it had now been rejoined, a section would inevitably be missing. Even with a good recovery, walking would always be a limp; with a poor recovery, standing again would be difficult indeed.
Originally Wei Zhao had meant to treat it with trauma medicine together with acupuncture, but now it seemed those would be of no use! After all, the bone was short a piece, and neither acupuncture nor trauma medicine could restore it.
Fortunately, the injury was still fresh and had not yet healed, so Wei Zhao could employ the energy method of healing to treat Mother Yu's injury! Had he waited until Mother Yu's wounds had healed completely, then even true qi would not save her. After all, once a wound has healed, true qi can do nothing; that is an organic change, wholly unlike a fresh wound!
It was just like the nervous systems of Tang Zhi's father and Xiaofen: damaged, then healed over, so that even true qi could not repair them, and only certain medicinal fluids could bring about recovery.
