Chapter 1131 — Causing Trouble Again

So it was believed that as long as Doctor Guan's Trauma Medicine worked just as well, people would go straight into its embrace. For everyday consumables, customers had little loyalty: whichever was cheaper and worked well was the one they used—unless they didn't care about money.
"One hundred ninety-nine? Selling at cost?" Kang Jingming was briefly stunned. He had not expected Doctor Guan's Trauma Medicine to be priced so low. Counting production costs and distribution fees, there was almost nothing to be made. Did Doctor Guan's Pharmaceutical Company intend to smash the market with a low price?
He had to get this news to his grandfather as quickly as possible so they could prepare a response. So Kang Jingming sent his grandfather a text message directly, telling him the price of Doctor Guan's Trauma Medicine.
Watching Kang Xiaofeng speak so smoothly on the stage, introducing the functions and properties of the trauma medicine, Wei Zhao nodded slowly. After a period of tempering, Kang Xiaofeng had matured a great deal; at the very least, in matters of business, he was now far better than before.
Next came the question-and-answer session with reporters. Most of the reporters present knew Doctor Guan's Pharmaceutical Company through the mass poisoning of the First High School students, and their impression of the company was very good, so their questions were all positive, none too tricky.
But there are always exceptions. Among them was one reporter attending the launch who had come with the attitude of making trouble! That man was Crippled Wolf. He had previously been hired by Zhao Qibing to ruin Pengzhan Group and First High School, only to have Doctor Guan's Pharmaceutical Company step in and wreck his scheme; he had nursed the grudge ever since.
This time, he had come up with every possible way to stir up trouble, and as it happened, a man named Wang Shubin had sought him out, given him fifty thousand yuan, and asked him to cooperate in making trouble. Crippled Wolf had agreed with delight.
This launch did not check press credentials and allowed anyone to enter, which conveniently suited a ragtag sort like Crippled Wolf.
When the others had asked most of their questions, Crippled Wolf raised his hand and asked: "I've heard that similar medicines on the market all sell for two hundred ninety-nine yuan, yet yours costs only one hundred ninety-nine. Isn't there something wrong with it? They say the cost alone is more than that."
Kang Xiaofeng had answered many positive questions before, which had put him off his guard; now, hearing Crippled Wolf's words, he tensed up again. Fortunately, he had simulated similar scenarios during his rehearsals, so he did not lose his nerve now. He only smiled slightly and replied: "May I ask how you know the cost is more than that? As far as I know, that is a trade secret, known only to the core staff of a pharmaceutical company, is it not?"
Though Kang Xiaofeng did not say so outright, he had already implied that Crippled Wolf had been sent by a competitor to make trouble. Everyone present, surely, could understand.
Originally, Crippled Wolf had thought that Kang Xiaofeng, being young, would have little experience and be easy to bully, which was why he had raised the question; but he had not expected the boy to answer so sharply, and now he found it somewhat hard to respond.
The reporters present all looked at Crippled Wolf with contempt, waiting to see what he could say.
"I don't know. I merely suspect there's something wrong with your medicine. With such a price gap from the others, it can't be anything good!" Crippled Wolf said.
