Chapter 1063 — The Underground Racetrack

The Blossom Guardian · Page 2 of 2

But though the scenic spot had closed, the winding mountain road was still there. It had gone unrepaired for years, some of the guardrails were gone, and the surface of the road was not in the best shape either. Yet the road served no purpose except to carry you to the summit of Bolong Mountain, and since every business here had pulled out, who was going to spend money to fix it?

Feng Xiaoxiao drove up to the open ground at the foot of Bolong Mountain. It was already packed with every kind of vehicle, of every caliber imaginable, from the cheapest Alto to the finest world-famous sports cars.

And beside the cars on that open ground, small knots of people had gathered here and there, each chatting, drinking, and chasing girls in their own little circle.

Most of them were men and women in garish getups, their hair strange and outlandish, just like Feng Xiaoxiao used to be.

At the sight of these non-mainstream types, Wei Zhao could not help frowning. To speak plainly, he had little fondness for these wild boys and girls. Instead of studying properly, they came out here to race cars. Was that any way to repay the parents at home?

But then again, many of them had been pampered and spoiled at home. If their parents did not give them money, what would they use to buy cars?

Of course, besides these non-mainstream boys and girls, there were also middle-aged men who were plainly of the gang-boss variety, their heads shaved or cropped to a buzz cut, wearing tank tops, tattoos covering both arms, looking every inch the underworld sort.

Birds of a feather flock together. There was also a small circle made up of top-tier sports car owners, and these were truly respectable members of society, impeccably turned out. Among them were white-collar workers from big companies and genuine scions of wealthy families. Without question, these people too had come looking for thrills.

Feng Xiaoxiao's car was neither the worst of them nor a particularly good one, so when it rolled onto the open ground it drew no attention at all. Only a few non-mainstream types who recognized the car came over.

"Sister Feng, you're here!" The speaker was the trendy non-mainstream youth who had once snapped a photograph of Wei Zhao on the commercial street.

"Mm," Feng Xiaoxiao nodded. "Everything arranged?"

"Yes, Sister Feng. I've talked it all over with Brother Dakeng. The first race is yours, Sister Feng!" the trendy youth said hurriedly. Brother Dakeng was the organizer of the underground races, said to have some underworld connections, and in Songshan City he was a somebody!

To Wei Zhao, of course, all of that was trash. He could torment the likes of Li Cihua whenever he pleased, to say nothing of a Brother Dakeng with only "some" underworld connections. It was simply that Wei Zhao did not care to bother with him. Two hundred thousand was a trifling sum to Wei Zhao, and he could not be bothered to go find this Brother Dakeng and break the rules.

"Who's my opponent?" Feng Xiaoxiao asked with a nod. Wearing sunglasses, she looked every bit the big sister boss, which struck Wei Zhao as rather funny.

"By the usual custom, it should be a rookie as well. Sister Feng, I don't mean to look down on you. It's just that this is your first race too..." the trendy youth hurriedly explained.
