Chapter 1061 — Completely Defeated: So although everyone was a little uneasy, with yesterday's experience to go on, they were not too worried either.

But Yunhai Shuku was beginning to worry. He turned to the boss beside him and said, "Why isn't Red Dragon putting his opponent down this time? They actually look about evenly matched."
"It's nothing. It was the same yesterday. It's the last bout, after all -- they have to bring out a tough opponent, otherwise there'd be no thrill in it," the boss said indifferently.
"Oh..." Yunhai Shuku nodded, but he was still a little uneasy...
Yet the outcome of the third bout seemed to catch most of the crowd off guard.
Down in the arena, the tide turned in an instant. Black Cat landed several heavy punches on Red Dragon, leaving him seeing stars, reeling and dazed.
"Ah..." Gasps of alarm swept through the stands.
They had never imagined that Red Dragon, always invincible, could be hit by Black Cat.
"Go, Red Dragon! Go, Red Dragon! Hold on, Red Dragon!" Many in the stands had gone wild. They refused to believe Red Dragon could lose, for last night he had taken several heavy blows too, and in the end he had still turned the defeat around.
But today was different. Yesterday, no matter how formidable a fighter pumped full of drugs might be, he was still just a small fry; against a quasi-Yellow-rank external expert like Red Dragon, he had been utterly helpless. But now Red Dragon was facing an external expert of mid Profound rank!
If Master Li wanted to kill Red Dragon, it would be the work of a minute. In front of him, Red Dragon was nothing but a one-punch opponent.
But Master Li did not kill Red Dragon with a single blow; that would have been too shocking, too likely to rouse suspicion. So he deliberately suppressed his strength, letting it appear that he and Red Dragon were about evenly matched -- and indeed, the two of them had fought on equal terms before this.
Master Li took a gradual approach, striking at Red Dragon bit by bit, wearing him down.
Red Dragon seemed to sense that this opponent was no ordinary man, but he was not yet a Yellow-rank fighter, and so could not be counted among true cultivators. He had no clear measure of Master Li's true strength -- especially with Master Li deliberately holding back, he assumed the man was roughly his own equal.
Red Dragon had already suffered one setback, but he blamed it on carelessness. After adjusting his stance, he threw a punch straight at Black Cat.
"Bang!" Red Dragon's fist met Master Li's, and there came a sharp "crack!"
With a howl of agony, Red Dragon's arm dropped limp. His right arm was ruined.
Master Li sneered inwardly. Fool, overreaching as always! With that level of skill, he still dared to show off in front of me? If not for fear of rousing the spectators' suspicions, Red Dragon would already be a dead man.
Seeing Red Dragon appear to have taken another hit, the crowd grew anxious. They did not yet know that one of his arms had been crippled, and they still clung to the hope that Red Dragon could turn the tide.
"Red Dragon, rise up! Hit him! Hit Black Cat! Go, Red Dragon, go, go!"
"Red Dragon is invincible -- take down that little bastard Black Cat!"
The stands went wild, cheering themselves hoarse for Red Dragon. They wished they could leap into the arena and give Black Cat a thrashing in his place, for every one of them had wagered enormous sums on Red Dragon. If Red Dragon lost, they would lose everything they owned.
The sweat on Yunhai Shuku's forehead came faster and faster. Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined that Red Dragon, who had looked so brave and invincible before, would suddenly lose his touch and find himself no match for Black Cat.
Don't lose, please don't lose! Yunhai Shuku prayed silently. But the situation in the arena gave him no cause for optimism.
An Liwen watched the scene in the arena through the big screen with great satisfaction, savoring the red wine in his hand. "Master Li is doing well. He knows how to put on a show."
