Chapter 958 — Sworn on the Wheelchair

With that, Zhao Qibing yanked up the hem of his robe and bit down on it, then dropped into the wheelchair behind him.
"But..." How could Li Cihua dare lay a hand on him?
"Get on with it. I don't have all day. If I have to do it myself, one kick and your leg's shattered beyond repair!" Wei Zhao said, his tone edged with impatience.
"Cihua, do it. That's an order!" Zhao Qibing shuddered and hastily barked the command at Li Cihua.
Li Cihua was helpless. Gritting his teeth, he hoisted the iron bar and brought it down on Zhao Qibing's left leg. A sharp crack rang out, followed by Zhao Qibing's agonized scream as the leg broke.
Without pausing to breathe, Li Cihua raised the bar again and swung at Zhao Qibing's right leg. Another crack, and the right leg broke as well.
Zhao Qibing was in such agony he was nearly rolling on the floor.
"Remember to wire the money. Oh, and one broken leg would have been enough—what did you have to break both for?" Wei Zhao shrugged and turned to leave the Geli Fuyun Bar.
"This..." Li Cihua was taken aback, and he cursed Wei Zhao inwardly. Why hadn't he said so earlier? He hadn't broken both of Zhao Qibing's legs at once—he'd done them one after the other—and Wei Zhao had waited until he was finished to speak up. Wasn't that deliberate? When Young Master Bing put the blame on him...
"Wei Zhao, I, Zhao Qibing, swear on this wheelchair—if I don't kill you, my name isn't Zhao!" Enduring the pain with clenched teeth, Zhao Qibing waited until Wei Zhao had gone before snarling viciously, "You just remember this. I, Zhao Qibing, keep my word!"
"Young Master Bing, I'm sorry... I..." Li Cihua rushed to apologize for having broken both of Zhao Qibing's legs.
"None of your business!" Zhao Qibing waved a hand, rolled his eyes, and passed out cold.
After leaving the Geli Fuyun Bar, Wei Zhao didn't head straight back to Gu Mengyao's villa. Instead, he called Tang Zhi. He owed her an explanation. Perhaps today's outcome would disappoint her, but Wei Zhao had no choice. Truth be told, he also couldn't bear to leave the young miss and little Shu.
Their time together hadn't been long, but day in and day out, Wei Zhao had genuinely grown fond of them.
"Hello? Wei Zhao, are you on the train?" Tang Zhi knew he had probably left the night before, but she had been afraid that if she went to see him off, someone with ill intentions might notice. Better that Wei Zhao slipped away quietly, out of his enemies' sight.
"No, I'm in Songshan City," Wei Zhao said.
"You didn't leave?" Tang Zhi was slightly startled. "What's going on? Did something happen?"
"Where are you? Let's talk in person," Wei Zhao said with a faint sigh.
"I'm at school. It's lunch break right now," Tang Zhi said.
"Then I'll come to the school now." Wei Zhao turned the car around and drove off toward the school.
Zhong Yongliang and Gao Xiaofu were just coming out of a restaurant near the school gate. The school had covered up Zhong Yongliang's crime for him back then, but even so, the two of them didn't quite dare show their faces in the cafeteria anymore. The head chef there knew the inside story—if he let something slip, they'd be finished.
So every noon they went to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Given Zhong Yongliang's family circumstances, he could well afford it.
"Hey? Liang, isn't that Wei Zhao?" Gao Xiaofu suddenly pointed into the distance and yelped in surprise.
"Wei Zhao?" Zhong Yongliang was startled. Following Gao Xiaofu's finger, he looked up and sure enough, there was Wei Zhao stepping out of a yellow Beetle.
"Why does he still dare show his face at school? The Yu and Xiao families and Zhao Qibing's people haven't finished him off yet?" Gao Xiaofu said, puzzled.
"Yeah, why would he show up at school at a time like this? Instead of lying low, he dares to appear in public?" Zhong Yongliang's brow furrowed at once.
"Brother Liang, why don't we go give him some trouble?" Gao Xiaofu suggested, fairly itching to try.
