Chapter 714 — Nothing to Worry About?

The Blossom Guardian · Page 2 of 2

"That's right. Brother Wang and the specialist both said they can't be sure, and if anything goes wrong they won't take responsibility." Li Dilei nodded.

"Wait here. I'll go and ask." Li Cihua turned and went into the surgical clinic, where he found Dr. Wang.

Dr. Wang of course knew Li Cihua — a man of considerable standing in this city — and did not dare be remiss. He rose at once and hurried over to greet him. "Brother Cihua!"

"Dr. Wang, how is my cousin's situation, really?" Li Cihua gave a nod, skipping the pleasantries and coming straight to the point.

"Well... the truth is, by my judgment, there's nothing to worry about." Dr. Wang spoke honestly. "The spots where the needles went in aren't deep; they couldn't have damaged the internal organs. So the idea that pulling them out would kill him is essentially groundless! And if the needles were poisoned, whether they're pulled out or not wouldn't make much difference — he'd be poisoned either way. Besides, Mr. Li has needles in his hands too, and there's nothing fatal about the hands."

"Oh? Then what are you saying?" Li Cihua also thought Dr. Wang's reasoning made good sense. What fatal spot could there be on a hand?

"The key problem now is that your cousin painted such a terrifying picture — said pulling them out would kill him outright. No one could afford to bear that responsibility. Better safe than sorry, isn't it?" Dr. Wang said with a bitter smile.

Li Cihua nodded. He understood Dr. Wang's difficulty well enough. Li Dilei was his own cousin, and if anything did go wrong, the doctor feared he would come looking for trouble later.

"How about this — we pull the silver needles out of his hands first. I doubt anything will go wrong, and even if it does, I'll take responsibility for it. What do you say?" Li Cihua asked after a moment's thought. He could not just leave his younger brother bristling like a hedgehog forever, could he? It had to be dealt with somehow.

Once this business was settled, Li Cihua still had to go back and confer with Young Master Bing on their next move. Wei Zhao had to be dealt with — and now it was no longer a simple matter of breaking Young Master Bing's leg and finishing off Zhang Long and Li Yao. It was a whole skyscraper! With nothing more than a few forklifts and some bombs, Wei Zhao had written off over a hundred million yuan just like that.

Young Master Bing had only torn down a single one-story house belonging to his girlfriend's family, and Wei Zhao had brought down an entire tower. How ruthless!

"The silver needles in his hands — he could actually pull them out himself. How about you lend him a hand, Brother Cihua?" Naturally Dr. Wang was unwilling to do it himself. Who would volunteer for something carrying that kind of risk?

"All right, then you keep an eye on things for me — if anything goes wrong, we can deal with it in time!" Li Cihua nodded and agreed.

When Li Dilei saw his cousin come out together with Dr. Wang, he hurriedly asked, "Brother, how did it go?"

"I'll pull the silver needles out of your hands first. There's nothing fatal in the hands, so it should be fine. Plenty of people lose an arm or a leg and still go on living, don't they?" Li Cihua said.

Li Dilei thought that made sense too, so he nodded and agreed, saying to Li Cihua, "All right then, start with the hands."

Pulling out a silver needle was no great matter. Li Cihua removed the needle from Li Dilei's left hand quite easily — and on Li Dilei's hand, not even a drop of blood came out!

"See? Nothing to it, is there?" Li Dilei said, both pleased and a little scornful. "Damn it, I thought there was some deep trick to it, but it was all a con! It tormented me half to death! It doesn't hurt or itch at all, and there isn't even any blood!"
