Chapter 646 — Two Pieces of Good News

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

No sooner had Zhong Fabai's voice faded than Li Cihua's phone rang.

Li Cihua took out his phone and glanced at it. To his surprise, it was the tattooed man, An Liwen's underling, calling.

"Hello?" Li Cihua picked up at once. After all, the two sides were partners now, and every month An Liwen brought him a handsome profit.

"Brother Cihua? It's me. Brother Wen says he has already found a suitable kidney for Zhong Yongliang. Tell him to come over right now for the transplant surgery!" the tattooed man said.

"Oh? Already found one? That's wonderful — thank you so much!" Li Cihua had not expected to speak of the devil and have him appear. He had only just finished discussing the search for a kidney with Zhong Fabai, and An Liwen's side had already taken care of it.

"Mutual benefit, of course!" said the tattooed man. "In half an hour I'll send a car to the Gelifuliuyun Bar to pick up Zhong Yongliang. Brother Cihua, you make the arrangements on your end!"

"Fine, then we'll meet in half an hour!" Li Cihua hung up, turned to Zhong Fabai with a face full of smiles, and said, "Old Zhong, I must congratulate you!"

"Congratulate me? Congratulate me for what?" Zhong Fabai's heart stirred. He had heard Li Cihua on the phone saying something about having found something, but had paid it no mind. Now Li Cihua was congratulating him, and Zhong Fabai's thoughts began to race. He had hit upon a possibility that set his blood pumping...

"A matching kidney has been found for Zhong Yongliang. The transplant can go ahead!" Li Cihua said. "An Liwen will send a car in half an hour. You tell Pinliang to come and wait at the Gelifuliuyun Bar — he can go straight over when it arrives!"

"Truly?!" Zhong Fabai was overcome with excitement. He had only this one son — this was his boy. Since the boy had lost a kidney, he had said nothing, but every day his heart had felt as though a great stone were wedged inside it, a misery he could not bear, a problem he wanted to solve yet had no way to solve. He could only force himself not to think of it.

But some things cannot be solved by refusing to think of them. The reason he had let Zhong Yongliang take the risk of poisoning the school cafeteria was precisely because Young Master Bing had promised that the boy would not do it for nothing — he would speak to An Liwen and ask him to help find a kidney matching Zhong Yongliang's and put a new one in him.

Whether Young Master Bing would actually put in a word, and whether An Liwen would then do him the favor, was beyond Zhong Fabai's control. But hope, however faint, was better than none! What he had not expected was how forcefully Young Master Bing got things done: no sooner had his son administered the poison than a suitable kidney had been found!

"Young Master Bing never shortchanges those who serve him!" Li Cihua said with a laugh. "As long as we keep close on Young Master Bing's heels, we'll be living high on the hog from here on out!"

"Indeed, Young Master Bing is a good boss, well worth following!" Zhong Fabai said with genuine feeling. His greatest fear had been that Young Master Bing was merely using him and thought nothing of him; but now it seemed that his difficulties were ever in Young Master Bing's mind — even with a broken leg, lying in a hospital bed, he had not forgotten to help Zhong Yongliang find a kidney. "Shall I go and thank Young Master Bing in person, and pledge my loyalty while I'm at it?"

"No need. Young Master Bing should be resting," Li Cihua said with a wave of his hand. "You had better call Pinliang first and have him come over. An Liwen will send the car any moment — don't hold up the real business!"

"Of course, of course!" Zhong Fabai saw the sense in that too. "I'll drive over and pick Pinliang up right now!"
