Chapter 574 — Intentions Stirred

The Blossom Guardian · Page 1 of 2

"Tang Zhi—have you ever heard of her? She's the The Blossom Guardian of Songshan No. 1 High School, and the number one beauty of the shantytown!" Li Erlan said. "I've got photos on my phone. Want to take a look, Young Master Bing?"

"Oh? Give it here." Young Master Bing took Li Erlan's phone. It was full of candid shots of Tang Zhi that Li Erlan had secretly taken.

Zhong Fabai was overjoyed. He had been racking his brains over how to shift the spearhead toward Tang Zhi, and here Li Erlan had turned up—perfect timing! Excellent. Now, when the time came to move against Tang Zhi's family, he would have his justification.

"Young Master Bing, I've heard of this Tang Zhi myself. My son attends Songshan No. 1 High School too, and there really is a commoner The Blossom Guardian there named Tang Zhi," Zhong Fabai put in at just the right moment. "Though I hear she only recently got a boyfriend?"

"Recently? So she didn't have one before?" Young Master Bing's eyes lit up. If that was true, there was a very good chance the girl was still a virgin! He looked again at Li Erlan's photos—she truly was the cream of the crop. Even these careless candid shots were this beautiful; how stunning must she be in person? This was exactly the kind of woman who interested him most.

"Never had one before, Young Master Bing. I'd bet Tang Zhi is still untouched!" Li Erlan said. "I've made a bit of a study of this sort of thing—you can tell when a woman's no longer a virgin."

Zhao Qibing nodded. "Old Zhong, think of a way later. We'll start with this Tang Zhi's family. I'm having that girl, no two ways about it."

"Rest easy, Young Master Bing. I'll get it done!" Zhong Fabai felt his heart singing with joy. Heaven itself was helping him—this Li Erlan was a godsend.

"I hear Tang Zhi's family is angling for a commercial unit in this demolition. We can squeeze them on that," Li Erlan said. He had already looked into the Tang family's situation. He was a shantytown man himself, so digging up that sort of information was no trouble at all.

Zhong Fabai nodded as he listened, feeling even more grateful to Li Erlan. This was better still—now he had grounds for making things difficult, and he wouldn't have to rack his own brains for them.

After the meal, the group returned to the shantytown square. Only now there was one more person on the rostrum: Li Erlan. The residents were baffled. These big shots came and then left, left and then came back—what kind of show were they putting on?

When they saw Li Erlan up on the rostrum, the residents grew angry. Li Erlan had surely gone over to the enemy and told the developers what the residents thought! He was one of them, so no one had kept anything from him when they'd met to discuss things, and he knew a good deal. Now it looked like that had been a mistake! The little bastard really was rotten—he'd turned informer.

"Have you finished your discussions? If not, then let me lay out the demolition compensation terms of Qibing Real Estate," Zhong Fabai said, clearing his throat and looking over the crowd. "The relocation subsidy is eight hundred yuan per square meter. Once the buildings are up, returning households will receive a certain discount—those who move back can buy at twenty percent off. Commercial units and garages excluded, however!"

"Eight hundred?" The residents balked at once, raising an uproar. "Have you seen what housing costs these days? You give us eight hundred—where are we supposed to buy a home? Prices around here are already ten thousand a square! Twenty percent off still leaves eight thousand!"

"But we're counting your sheds and storehouses toward your floor area. Add it all up, and it's no problem for each family to buy a small unit of thirty or forty square meters," Zhong Fabai said mildly. "All right. If there are no problems, let's begin signing the agreements."
