Chapter 432 — Is This Little Guan Xin?

The Blossom Guardian · Page 2 of 2

"How about this, then? Divine Doctor Lin, aren't you planning to start a pharmaceutical company? What if I gave you an office building? I just finished constructing a new tower. I was planning to move the company I manage into it, but I won't need all that space -- a few floors will do. The rest I had intended to rent out, but I could just give it to you instead. What do you say?" Fatty Lai asked.

"If you really want to give it, I'll take it." Hearing that it was office space on offer, Wei Zhao didn't refuse -- it would save him the trouble of hunting for a location.

"Right, and the property deed will be in your name too?" Fatty Lai was overjoyed to see Wei Zhao no longer refusing.

"Put it under Grandpa Guan..." Wei Zhao had meant to say Guan Xuewen's name, but on second thought, Guan Xuewen would probably refuse, so he said, "Put it under Guan Xin's name."

"Right, I've noted it down." Fatty Lai nodded hurriedly, thinking to himself that Wei Zhao and Guan Xin were indeed close—so his guess had been right after all.

"Is there anything else?" Wei Zhao was anxious to call Tang Zhi and had no patience to dawdle with him.

"Yes—that Life-Extending Detox Pill, could you sell me another one..." Fatty Lai stated his purpose.

"Oh, your old man isn't going to die just yet, then." Wei Zhao said, "In a few days, when the pharmaceutical company opens, I'll put some up for auction. You can buy them then."

"Right, good! As long as there's stock, that's fine!" Fatty Lai wasn't short of money and didn't care whether it was an auction or not. "Boohoo, I'm so happy..."

Wei Zhao hung up, relieved. This fellow was far too long-winded; he really couldn't stand it. Shaking his head, he dialed Tang Zhi's number.

"Hello? Wei Zhao? Is something the matter?" Tang Zhi had just gotten home from the hospital when she received Wei Zhao's call.

"There's tree planting at school tomorrow. Do you have a sapling?" Wei Zhao asked.

"Yes, do you need one? There are plenty in my yard," Tang Zhi said. "Just snap off a couple of little saplings and that'll do."

"Uh—" Wei Zhao slapped his forehead, only then remembering that Tang Zhi's family lived in a single-story house in the shantytown, with a yard right outside the door and lots of wild saplings growing along its edge. "No, I was thinking that if you didn't have any, I'd buy some for you..."

"No need, hehe..." Tang Zhi sounded quite happy; Wei Zhao's concern sent wave after wave of sweetness surging through her heart. So this was what love felt like—wonderful... She had always resisted such things before, but once you truly fell for someone, there was no holding it back.

"All right then, see you tomorrow." They chatted casually a while longer, and only when Tang Zhi's mother called her to eat did Wei Zhao hang up.

Inside the Gelifuyun Bar, An Liwen sat beside Li Cihua with a gloomy expression. "Cihua, you've got to help me this time. Send a few tough guys to teach that brat Wei Zhao a lesson—Taizao and I took a real beating this time!"

Li Cihua, however, just pondered in silence.

"Cihua, you know as well as I do that my big brother took the Fire Wolf Gang's best fighters with him, and the new ones haven't arrived yet. Otherwise I wouldn't have to ask you this!" Seeing Li Cihua stay silent, An Liwen grew anxious.

"How... high a level of fighter?" Li Cihua sighed and finally spoke.

"Early-stage Evolver, of course. It was agreed he'd stay here by my side, but my big brother has such lousy character that he actually took that fighter away with him!" At this point An Liwen's eyes filled with venomous hatred. "If not for that, would I have been humiliated by some petty bodyguard?"
