"That works too! Let's eat first, then!" An Liwen figured Wei Zhao really was hungry — just out of class, hadn't had dinner yet — so letting him eat for a while wouldn't hurt.
But Wei Zhao's leisurely, unhurried pace of eating drove An Liwen to distraction. He had meant to record this fellow wolfing his food down as a joke, yet the man ate in a thoroughly elegant manner — not a small amount, but with an air of real refinement — so An Liwen had no choice but to give up on the video. What was the point of wasting memory? What if, when Wei Zhao got busy with the girls later, there was no room left to record that?
When he had eaten his fill, Wei Zhao took a sip of the red wine in his glass and wiped his mouth. "Not bad. The chef at this Starlight Splendor Hotel is excellent — the food is delicious!"
"Naturally — otherwise this place could never have become our old haunt!" Su Taizao said smugly. "Back in the day, the Four Young Devils of Songshan used to gather here all the time!"
"Brother Lin, we've eaten our fill — how about a little entertainment?" An Liwen turned to Wei Zhao with a smile, thinking to himself that the boy had better not just turn and walk out now that he was fed and watered, or this meal would have been bought for nothing, and he hadn't pried a single word out of him yet!
"Oh, sure — but hold on a moment, I need to use the restroom!" Wei Zhao turned to leave the private room, because the phone in his pocket had started to buzz. It was probably Gu Mengyao or Shen Yushu calling, and Wei Zhao did not want to take the call in front of An Liwen and Su Taizao.
"Isn't there a restroom right here in the room?" Su Taizao pointed at a small door inside the private room.
"I'm not used to sitting toilets," Wei Zhao said with a smile. "I ate a bit too much — my stomach's a little unsettled."
"Haha, all right then, hurry back!" Hearing this, Su Taizao gave an understanding smile. Some people were used to squat toilets and disliked sitting ones — perfectly normal.
Taking advantage of Wei Zhao's trip to the restroom, An Liwen wanted to discuss the next move with Su Taizao. Their plan was to get Wei Zhao a girl and record the whole process; whether or not he was Gu Mengyao's boyfriend no longer mattered — once this video was delivered to Gu Pengzhan, the man was finished.
Wei Zhao walked briskly toward the restroom and answered the phone. It was Shen Yushu, as expected.
"Brother Shield, I'm questioning you on behalf of Sister Yao!" Shen Yushu said with great solemnity. "Have you hired any girls?"
"Heh, not yet." Wei Zhao smiled. "I just finished eating."
"Sister Yao says you're not allowed to hire any — if you do, don't bother coming back!" Shen Yushu had barely finished speaking when Gu Mengyao's voice came from the other end: "Xiaoshu, what nonsense are you spouting? I never said that!"
"Hehe, Brother Shield, have you taught those two a lesson yet?" Shen Yushu asked with a giggle.
"Haven't found the right opening yet — we'll see in a bit." Wei Zhao could hardly just walk up and beat the two of them. There had to be a reason to raise his hand; he had no intention of stirring up two headaches just because of a word from Shen Yushu. These two were clearly a cut above Zhong Yongliang and Bu Ruoming — making them swallow a silent loss would be best.
"Mm, then you absolutely must teach them a lesson!" Shen Yushu said. "I'll hang up now — you'd better get on with it!"
Wei Zhao hung up and walked out of the restroom, mulling over his next move as he went — when suddenly, from a private room he was passing, he heard a familiar name!
"Brother Zihua, how are these two girls? They're the top-tier goods at Starlight Splendor — the house's leading ladies! I paid a hefty price to get them out here!" An ingratiating voice drifted from the private room. Though the tone was humble, the volume was loud — plainly rather brazen.
