Gu Mengyao found it amusing. She thought, Little Xiaoshu really is a born troublemaker who wouldn't blink at ruining someone. Zhong Yongliang is going to get destroyed by her this time! But since she disliked Zhong Yongliang in her heart, she didn't intervene.
And yet it was precisely Gu Mengyao's indifferent, hands-off attitude that created the illusion in Zhong Yongliang's mind that she had tacitly approved. Under normal circumstances, if Gu Mengyao disapproved, she would certainly have impatiently shooed him away. But this time she had said nothing at all - which could only mean she was giving her silent consent.
This only strengthened Zhong Yongliang's resolve. He took the carving knife Shen Yushu handed him, hesitating over which finger to cut this time.
While Zhong Yongliang was dithering, Shen Yushu quickly sent a text to Wei Zhao: "Calling Arrow Bro - Zhong Yongliang is cutting his finger again. Come assist immediately!"
Zhong Yongliang gripped the carving knife, gritted his teeth, and as if making the hardest decision of his life, slashed down hard on the thumb of his right hand. It had to be this finger - the others would be too inconvenient for writing.
Wei Zhao glanced at the message on his phone, rose slowly to his feet, and walked over to Zhong Yongliang. Seeing him cut his finger, he smiled faintly. It seemed this kid still hadn't learned enough from yesterday's lesson.
"Out of my way!" Wei Zhao casually shoved Zhong Yongliang aside, knocking him off balance.
Zhong Yongliang was just about to sign his name on the blood letter when Wei Zhao's voice suddenly came from behind, giving him a tremendous fright. He thought Wei Zhao was going to kick him again, but after that single shove, Wei Zhao strode right past without so much as stopping.
