Chapter 580 — Advance, Unfold

The colossal Sentinel Tower stood at the border of the former human empire, its six-prism body rising hundreds of meters tall, floating by means of powerful anti-gravity devices above a base the size of a small hill, built of special alloys and runic stone. Countless intricate runes and streams of energy light flickered and flowed across the tower's body and all about its base; driven by those runes, mighty magical energy was projected into the air, generating an energy barrier a thousand meters high at the wasteland's edge.
"The glory of the ancient empire..."
Luo Yan Augustus withdrew his gaze from the tower's summit and sighed softly.
Behind him, a busy construction site was proceeding with tense, orderly work: a great many low-ranking mages from the Royal Mages' Association were using Mage Hand and various shaping and summoning spells to raise the camp's walls, and massive stone ramparts grew visibly from the polluted, corrupted soil, while the great shield emblem of the Typhon Empire had already risen to the top of the flagpole — and in the wasteland's erratic winds, the gold-red banner fluttered proudly.
The sound of hooves came from not far off, and a dashing gray-haired female knight rode up before the emperor of Typhon. Luo Yan Augustus raised his head and gave a nod to this gifted "little wolf" of the Wendel family, a smile so faint it was nearly imperceptible touching his ever-gloomy, rigid features: "It seems there is news."
An Luo Wendel swung down from her horse and bowed. "Yes, Your Majesty. The Eagle-Eye Sentinels have confirmed it — a company has appeared at the edge of the Black Forest to the northwest, and they fly the crest of the Cecil family."
"Just as we expected. With Ansu's Eastern Province and the royal house locked in their struggle, in the end they can only bring out that ancestor of theirs who climbed out of the grave," Luo Yan nodded, then turned his gaze northwest, toward the hazy vast shadow of another high tower far in the distance. "So very close..."
(Doubtless many of you already know... the little eyeball has been born, and this is also my last chapter of stockpiled manuscript — wish me safe updating...)
