But now this precaution had become the rope that bound his hands—he dared not use his more powerful weapons, for fear of setting off the explosives beneath the island! If that happened, not only Yang Ce would be finished; everyone would be finished together.
"Dr. Ban Lin, are you out of your mind? I was going to wait a while before dealing with you, but it seems you're in a hurry to die?" Yang Ce did not take Dr. Ban Lin seriously at all. The man might sound terrifying, but in the end he was nothing but an ordinary man. Yang Ce meant to finish off Wang Lin, then take Dr. Ban Lin back alive.
But now, on second thought, taking him alive might not be the best way. The skills this man commanded were all skills for harming people, and Dr. Sun Ce had no need of them. So Yang Ce secretly used his glasses to contact Dr. Sun Ce, asking whether Dr. Ban Lin should be taken alive—and Dr. Sun Ce's answer was: if you can get rid of him, get rid of him. His skills were of little use to Dr. Sun Ce.
"This—" Dr. Sun Ce was horrified, but this was open ground, with nowhere for him to hide. He had prepared no means of escape, because he had been so arrogant and self-assured, so certain Yang Ce could not be a match for a Fire Wolf War God. Only now did he discover that this mistake might make this place his eternal resting place.
"You can be on your way." Yang Ce raised his hand, and a flying needle shot from it, burying itself straight in Dr. Ban Lin's brain. Thus Dr. Ban Lin, a great villain of his generation, died soundlessly and without a trace.
Had he foreseen this, he would never have let Yang Ce onto the island; and after capturing Huang Yan, he would not have brought her back to Fire Wolf Island either—he would have killed her to vent his rage! But he had been too confident, so confident that the Fire Wolf War God was the supreme being, that none could surpass the Fire Wolf War God. This Fire Wolf War God was a legacy of alien technology, and in Dr. Ban Lin's heart it was an invincible existence, rooted deep—and so he had made this one fatal mistake.
Seeing Dr. Ban Lin fall dead before his very eyes, Yang Ce felt a pang of sorrow and pity. Was this his opponent? Was this the Dr. Ban Lin who had struck terror into Dong Jun and Alice?
So he was nothing but an ordinary man after all. When the hunger came over him, Yang Ce realized—killing Dr. Ban Lin had been so very easy!
Of course, had Dr. Ban Lin never created the Fire Wolf War God, he would never have stepped out so confidently to face Yang Ce, and killing him would not have been easy either. But the Fire Wolf War God he had made inflated Dr. Ban Lin's self-confidence to the extreme—and so he came to his tragic end.
