"Don't you want to take it back?" the middle-aged man asked, quite at ease.
"That's no concern of yours. If I wanted it back, I'd naturally send men over," Boss Sui said coolly. "If this is the only condition on offer, then I'd say it doesn't match what I'd be putting in."
"Oh? What doesn't match?" The middle-aged man shrugged and explained, "You need only cooperate with me to destroy Bao Lin of Songjiang and the Sun family of Donghai. Then you get the territory of Jidun City. That's already a very good bargain."
"I've already said it doesn't match. What you stand to gain is Songjiang and Donghai," Boss Sui said, shaking his head.
"That's not how it works," the middle-aged man said mildly. "Yes, I asked for two territories, Songjiang and Donghai. But without my hand in this, you can forget about ever taking Jidun City back. If you'll pardon my bluntness, Boss Sui, that is a fool's dream!"
"Hmph." Boss Sui gave a grudging snort.
"We're both men who understand these things, so I'll spare you the rest." The middle-aged man waved a hand, cutting off whatever Boss Sui meant to say. "I consider this partnership fair, and for you it is also an opportunity. Lose it, and it's gone."
"Fine. Let me think it over." Boss Sui sank into thought.
"Of course you may." The middle-aged man smiled. He was already certain he could bring Boss Sui around. In truth, even if Boss Sui stayed out of it, he had the backing of that mysterious figure.
The mysterious man could supply him with the latest firearms, more than enough to serve in a bid for power.
"This time, what are the odds of success?" After a long while, Boss Sui lifted his head, his eyes flickering, and asked.
"One hundred percent!" the middle-aged man said with certainty.
"Oh? You're that confident?" Boss Sui found it hard to believe.
"Confident or not, I'll introduce you to the man behind me only once you agree. Then you'll understand why we are so certain." The middle-aged man laughed heartily. "Besides, hah, once their money's gone, what the hell can they still do?"
"Their money's gone? What do you mean?" Boss Sui was taken aback.
"Nothing. These are things I can't tell you yet. Have you thought it over?" the middle-aged man asked. "Only when we are allies will I share the details with you."
