Chapter 76 — I Am Mr. Y...

Years of Heartflutter · Page 1 of 3

Wu Ming's heart gave a sharp lurch; he was truly beginning to regret having rashly accepted this job from Black Rat and Feng Dao. He had thought the task would be simple enough—merely to wound the head of the Qingming Sect, not to take his life. Such a job had seemed easy on the face of it, but who could have guessed that a Yang Cenbin would come charging out of nowhere like a Cheng Yaojin to waylay him?

He had figured it was death either way, and that Yang Shuoxuan might not actually be able to kill him, so he had clung on with the stubbornness of a dead pig that fears no boiling water.

But he had never expected this: he had endured all the brutal blows that came before, yet then Yang Yongjin, by some technique or other, suddenly plunged him into a strange agony that coursed through his whole body—truly unbearable.

"Just kill me," Wu Ming growled low, writhing in pain.

Yang Jiyan paid him no heed, only remarked to himself, "Ten minutes. I'll give you ten minutes. After that, there's something even more fun in store."

At these words from Yang Ce, not only did Bao Lin and Hou Lin exchange wide-eyed glances—even the agonized Wu Ming nearly fainted away. He could barely stand what he was enduring now, and there was more to come?

Still, this Wu Ming was a tough one to crack—Yang Ce had underestimated him. He rolled on the ground for a good ten minutes or more and never uttered another word.

Yang Yongjin had no choice but to work a few more of the acupoints on his body. This made Wu Ming's suffering even worse; though it could easily push his body past its limits and kill him, Yang Shuoxuan had no other way. Dealing with a stubborn mouth required extraordinary means. Fortunately, the fellow's constitution was far stronger than most, so he would not die anytime soon.

"I'll talk, I'll talk!" Wu Ming suddenly cried out.

"Oh? Well, that's good." Yang Ce bent down, regarding Wu Ming with keen interest. "Go on, then."

"It's death either way—I might as well dash my brains out against the wall right now. The Black Widow won't let you off—" All at once, a voice rang out in Yang Juehuan's mind.

Not good, Yang Lanxu thought to himself. No wonder the fellow's expression was so strange—he meant to seize the chance to kill himself. Yang Ce glanced around: not far from Wu Ming was a wall, and even now the man was inching toward it, deliberately or not. But what was this Black Widow? What did it mean, the Black Widow won't let you off? Could the mastermind behind him be the Black Widow and not Guo Jinbiao? Had he guessed wrong?

Yang Moyi was somewhat puzzled—had Bao Lin and the others made an enemy of someone called the Black Widow? Yang Ce shook his head, finding it hard to believe. He had assumed Guo Jinbiao would seek revenge at the first opportunity, never expecting a Black Widow to pop up instead.

But now was not the time to dwell on such things. If Wu Ming killed himself, that would be far from ideal. Though he had already learned through special channels who was really behind this, that was only the tip of the iceberg; the man was still of use to him, and it would be a pity to let him die just like that.

"Hold him down!" Yang Puqi waved a hand and ordered Hou Lin and Bao Lin.

"Yes, sir!" Hou Lin rushed over without a second thought. Bao Lin, however, hesitated a moment before following Hou Lin over and pinning down the writhing Wu Ming.

"Find some rope and tie him to the bed—don't let him move about," Yang Yanzhou said. "This one's unreliable; we don't want him dashing his brains out in a moment."

"Ah?" Hou Lin was taken aback, thinking to himself that Brother Yang was truly over-cautious. Still, he nodded and did as Yang Juehuan ordered, together with Bao Lin.

Only a trace of regret flickered across the pinned-down Wu Ming's face—Yang Ce had seen through his scheme, and it seemed seeking death would not be so easy now.
