Chapter 3348 — You Had a Hand in It Too

The Blossom Guardian

But the man's attitude now filled Yu Dake with furious indignation. You seize someone else's land and still think you are in the right?

"Kill me? I refuse to believe it!" Yu Dake said in a chilling voice. True, in the realm of the ancient ones he was nothing, but in this mortal world he could not believe anyone would dare lord it over him.

"Since you do not believe it, I will oblige you!" The lead guard was furious as well. If the man wanted to die, then die he would! With that, he lunged for Yu Dake, and the aura of a cultivator flared from his body in that instant.

Naturally, he did not put much force into it. After all, in his eyes, Yu Dake was a nobody of the mortal world—would he not be reduced to ashes with a mere wave of the hand?

"A peak late Mystic Rank expert? I never expected you were a cultivator!" Yu Dake was startled. He had assumed this place had been taken over by some wealthy merchant of influence in the mortal world—never had he imagined it was cultivators who had seized it!

Could these people have some connection to the massacre of his family all those years ago? Yu Dake was not overthinking it. The truth was that cultivators were still a rare sight in the mortal world. Though Yu Dake usually crossed paths only with cultivators, that was because the level he stood upon was different!

It was only natural: a wealthy man is surrounded by wealthy friends, while a beggar knows mostly beggars and wanderers. It was simply a matter of social circles.

But running into cultivators here, of all places, could not help but put Yu Dake on his guard!

"Oh ho? You even know what a cultivator is?" The lead guard's expression shifted. He had not expected the newcomer to see through his strength! Yet he did not take it seriously—in his view, his own strength was already quite formidable in the mortal world. He did not stop his hand; instead he poured more force into his fist!

"Hmph!" Yu Dake gave a cold snort and did not dodge. He met the lead guard's fist head-on. He was a cultivator of peak late Earth Rank strength. Though weaker than Wei Zhao, he could still overpower the lead guard!

"Boom—" Fist met fist. Yu Dake stood unharmed where he was, while the lead guard was sent flying backward, spitting blood, and crashed into the wall at the manor gate, landing in a heap, utterly battered.

Yu Dake had not meant to kill him, nor had he used any martial technique. But the sheer clash of force alone had dealt the lead guard extremely severe internal injuries—though not enough to kill him.

"You... you are a peak late Earth Rank expert? What have you come here for...? You actually dared to wound me..." The lead guard was questioning Yu Dake, but his voice was clearly blustering, brittle at the core.

"What about me? I have spared your wretched life. Get inside and announce me—tell whoever is in charge here to come out and see me!" Yu Dake gave another cold snort, plainly furious. Whose home had been seized by force and answered with such unreasonable arrogance without feeling the same?

"You just wait... you just wait..." This lead guard was the strongest among the guards, and since he had been struck down, the others naturally dared not attack. They all rushed over, helped the lead guard to his feet, and headed into the manor...

Inside the old castle within the manor, Old Master Gu was having breakfast. Ordinarily, no one disturbed him while he ate—not even his descendants or disciples. But now the lead guard, supported by the lesser guards, came limping and hobbling quickly into the dining hall.

"Who is it? Do you not know I dislike being disturbed while I eat?" Hearing footsteps at the door, Old Master Gu demanded in annoyance.

"Old Master Gu, it is terrible—someone has come to make trouble and beat me like this... Old Master Gu, I am your disciple, you must avenge me!" The lead guard still had no idea he was already beyond saving; all he could think of was getting even!

"What?!" Seeing the lead guard's wretched state, Old Master Gu was startled and shot to his feet. "Who did this to you? You are a peak late Mystic Rank expert—could this newcomer truly be stronger than you?"

"Yes—a peak late Earth Rank expert. I am certainly no match; only you yourself, Old Master Gu, can deal with him!" the lead guard said plaintively.

"Hmph! You notify the rest of our people here. I will go out and see for myself first. I refuse to believe anyone would dare make trouble at my Gu family's gates! Do they not want to live?" Old Master Gu slammed the table and said furiously.

"Yes, Old Master Gu." The lead guard answered at once. After Old Master Gu went out, he hurriedly sent the lesser guards to summon the Gu family's forces to lend support, while he himself, supported by one of the lesser guards, went out the door—he wanted to see with his own eyes how Yu Dake would be taught a fatal lesson.

Old Master Gu charged out of the manor at the head of the pack and saw the three of them—Yu Dake and his companions—standing at the manor gate. His eyes fairly spat fire. To dare run wild at the Gu family's doorstep—did they truly not want to live?

"Who was it that just wounded a disciple of my Gu family? Step forward and state your reason, and I will grant you a swift death. Otherwise, I will make your death a most rhythmic affair!" Old Master Gu demanded.

As he spoke, Old Master Gu unleashed the domineering strength of a late Heaven Rank from his body. His strength was his greatest reliance—and well it might be, for such power was an exceedingly formidable existence not only in the mortal world but even among the ancient sects!

Old Master Gu's strength made Yu Dake's heart falter a little, and he unconsciously took two steps back. But Wei Zhao patted him on the shoulder, signaling him to take heart.

With Wei Zhao's encouragement, Yu Dake found his confidence. He drew a deep breath and said, "I am Yu Dake. This place was where the Yu family has lived for generations. And who are you people? You seize my home and want to kill me—if I had not some strength, would I not be dead by now?"

"The Yu family?" Old Master Gu was slightly taken aback, then seemed to recall something. "You are of the Yu family? Was your family not wiped out all those years ago? Could it be that a fish slipped through the net back then? Judging by your age, you must be a descendant of the Yu family?"

At Old Master Gu's words, Yu Dake's expression turned exceedingly grim. He fixed his eyes on Old Master Gu and asked in a cold voice, "Could it be that you people also had a hand in the massacre of my Yu family all those years ago?"
