Chapter 2822 — Did You Bring a Weapon?
Tian Chan finally nodded and agreed.
"I don't even know how many days have passed..." Wei Zhao had broken through the mental cultivation method and incantation within the jade pendant's space, and on top of that there had been the earlier inheritance of the source power—he had no idea how long all of it had taken. He wondered how Zhao Qilei and the others were doing.
"What, do you have friends out there taking part in the trial?" Tian Chan asked.
"Yes. I wonder how they're doing..." Wei Zhao said, a trace of worry in his voice.
At his words, Tian Chan fell silent for a moment. She knew full well the true nature of this Xuandan Sect trial: the cultivators who came here were, in essence, sent to their deaths. Cruel as it was, Tian Chan had neither the power to stop it nor the power to change it—not even her master could, and she herself was even more helpless. All she could do was let it be.
But she could not bring herself to say any of this to Wei Zhao, so she changed the subject instead: "How are we supposed to tie you to me? There's no rope or anything of the sort here."
"Uh..." Wei Zhao looked around. Apart from a single bloodstained claw of the Five Baleful Dragon lying on the ground, there was nothing else at all. His gaze finally came to rest on Tian Chan's chest. He wanted to say something, but the words died on his lips.
Under his stare Tian Chan felt her whole body prickle, deeply uncomfortable. "You... what are you looking at?"
"The yellow silk on your chest—the one you use for binding..." Wei Zhao said.
"Then... what about my chest?" Tian Chan glared at Wei Zhao and said angrily, "Am I supposed to bare it for you to look at?"
"I'm behind you, so I won't be able to see anyway..." Wei Zhao broke into a sweat. "Besides, haven't I already seen it before? There's only the two of us here. Once we're up at the top of the mountain range, you can bind it back up, can't you?"
"This..." Though Tian Chan found it rather embarrassing—after all, this was different from when Wei Zhao had treated her injuries—she had to admit he had a point. There were only the two of them in these mountains, and Wei Zhao had already seen and touched everything there was to see and touch. If it meant they could climb up smoothly, his suggestion was not entirely unacceptable. Still, Tian Chan felt it was really rather improper.
"Besides, your clothes are so long, nothing would show anyway, would it? At most a bit of a hint here and there. Look at those car show models on TV—they show off so much..." Wei Zhao pressed his advantage.
"I'll kick you to death, I do! It's not like I want to get famous by stripping." Tian Chan made as if to kick Wei Zhao, but his words had loosened her up a little. She shot him a glare and said, "You're watching me—how am I supposed to take it off?"
"Heh, I'll just pretend I'm watching you pole-dance." Wei Zhao laughed.
"I think you're asking for a kicking. You're just a lowly late-stage Earth Rank expert, and you dare talk to me like that—me, a peak late-stage Heaven Rank expert? Aren't you afraid I'll finish you off in a single move?" Tian Chan looked at Wei Zhao with utter contempt.
"Heh, I can finish off Heaven Rank experts in a single move too." Wei Zhao smiled. "Earlier, Zhang Naipao brought two mid-stage Heaven Rank lackeys with him. I took one of them out."
"What? You can already finish off mid-stage Heaven Rank experts in a single move?" Tian Chan was stunned, staring at Wei Zhao in amazement.
"What do you mean, 'already'? Do you know something about my past, that I could before?" Wei Zhao was startled too.
"No... I was just shocked." Tian Chan was truly astonished. She had not yet heard about Zhang Naipao's lackey being killed in a single blow; she had simply never imagined Wei Zhao was already this powerful. "Even so, you're no match for me. I can finish off mid-stage Heaven Rank experts in a single move as well."
"Then just kill me, and neither of us goes up." Wei Zhao said.
"You think I don't dare?" Tian Chan said furiously. "Now turn around!"
"Heh." Wei Zhao turned around with a smile, a strange feeling in his heart. Bingtang the girl was also a peak late-stage Heaven Rank expert, but whenever she was with Wei Zhao she always faced him with that aloof, lofty coldness. Tian Chan was different—she might be an expert, but her temperament was that of a young girl, and Wei Zhao found himself happy in her company.
Tian Chan hesitated for a moment, then untied the yellow silk binding her chest, carefully pulling her collar tight to keep her breasts from showing. But that was impossible—the shape of the garment was what it was. All Tian Chan could do was let the clothes cover her body as much as possible, yet this faint, half-revealed allure gave her a terrible headache.
"All right, you can turn back now." After fumbling for ages with no solution, Tian Chan had no choice but to call Wei Zhao back around.
"Are you deliberately trying to seduce me?" Wei Zhao looked at the faintly visible ** on Tian Chan's chest and said, "Don't you know that this feeling is exactly what drives men craziest?"
"Say one more word and I'll kick you into a eunuch!" Tian Chan gave Wei Zhao a cold look. "Keep talking and I'll tell you the story of killing the donkey once it's done with the millstone. We'll settle accounts once we're up the cliff."
"Fine." Wei Zhao wiped the smile from his face, suddenly recalling that the person before him, beauty though she was, was also a peak late-stage Heaven Rank expert—a being who could obliterate him at any moment. "Now I'll wrap the yellow silk around the two of us. Help me with it."
"All right." Tian Chan nodded, watching somewhat nervously as Wei Zhao took his place behind her. Her delicate body was trembling slightly. She wanted to tell Wei Zhao not to stand so close, but then she thought: if he stood too far away, how would they be bound together? What if it came loose halfway up? If it was to be secure, they had to be pressed body to body...
Wei Zhao drew a deep breath. Tian Chan's scent was pleasant—he could not tell whether it was the fragrance of body wash or her own natural musk, and it stirred in him an urge to steal a taste of her sweetness.
Standing carefully behind Tian Chan, Wei Zhao's heavy breathing brushed against her neck, giving her a strange sensation—a little ticklish, a little uncomfortable. She could not help saying, "You... don't blow on me..."
"I'm breathing normally. If I don't breathe, I'll die." Wei Zhao said helplessly.
"Then turn your head away." Tian Chan said, unable to bear it.
"All right." Wei Zhao turned his head to the side, but pressed his body directly against Tian Chan's. Her delicate body gave a shudder, and she nearly cried out in alarm!
Still, it would have been better if Tian Chan had not moved; the moment she squirmed, Wei Zhao unavoidably had a physiological reaction...
Tian Chan felt something suddenly prodding against her. She froze for a moment, utterly baffled. "Hey, did you bring a weapon? It's poking me—take it away, quick!"
