Chapter 997 — Corrupted by Xiaoshu

The Blossom Guardian

"Wei Zhao, go get us a private room," Gu Mengyao said to him, her tone suggesting she regarded him as nothing more than an errand boy.

"All right!" Wei Zhao said nothing more, only nodded.

But just as Wei Zhao and the others were about to step into the V, several taxis pulled up at the entrance, and out of them stepped classmates from Class Five, Grade Twelve — among them, Xie Yufeng.

Clearly, Xie Yufeng had also chosen this V. It was not that he had deliberately followed Wei Zhao here; it was simply that Tiandi V was one of the more luxurious establishments in Songshan City, and having just arrived, he had come on the recommendation of his classmates.

Truly, one finds what one has sought far and wide without any effort at all! A faint smile traced the corner of Xie Yufeng's mouth.

He had already given up on the idea of approaching Wei Zhao tonight, never expecting that the two of them would end up at the same V.

"You're all from Class Five, Grade Twelve, aren't you? Your faces look familiar..." Xie Yufeng said, striding over to Wei Zhao and the others the moment he stepped out of the taxi.

Seeing Xie Yufeng come toward Gu Mengyao, Wei Zhao halted and quietly positioned himself about a meter away from her.

This Xie Yufeng was a formidable hand at the peak of the early Profound rank. Wei Zhao had not yet figured out his background and could not afford to drop his guard — if the man were to suddenly turn on Gu Mengyao, Wei Zhao would need to be able to block him in time.

At this distance, Wei Zhao could just manage to stop Xie Yufeng before he made his move — could even kill him outright.

"Yes. Is there something you need?" Though Gu Mengyao had no wish to associate with them, she could hardly ignore someone who had come over to greet her. The more she was the chairman's daughter, the more she had to mind appearances — a point she reminded herself of constantly.

"Ha ha, we came here to sing too. Why not join us? It'll be livelier that way!" As Xie Yufeng spoke with Gu Mengyao, his gaze drifted sidelong to Tang Zhi, Feng Xiaoxiao, and Shen Yushu — and when his eyes swept over the swell of Shen Yushu's chest, a flicker of lewdness passed through them.

Top-notch — if a man could get his hands on those, it would surely feel incredible. And then Tang Zhi and Feng Xiaoxiao — every one of them a peerless beauty.

"Thank you, but we don't care for lively crowds," Gu Mengyao said, shaking her head and declining his offer. "We won't keep you. We'll be going first."

With that, Gu Mengyao took Shen Yushu's hand and turned toward the V's entrance.

Only then did Wei Zhao turn around. Without so much as a glance at Xie Yufeng, he escorted Gu Mengyao and the others inside.

"Damn it!" Xie Yufeng cursed viciously under his breath. "Who does she think she is, putting on airs like that? One day I'll have you under me, making you scream!"

Having cursed, Xie Yufeng turned back around, his warm smile restored, and addressed his classmates. "Ha ha, seems they won't give us any face. Let's go have our fun!"

Though the classmates were grateful to Xie Yufeng for treating them to a night of singing, none of them dared say a word against Wei Zhao — the man had beaten even Zhong Yongliang and Zou Ruoming. Who among them would dare run their mouth?

Xie Yufeng had tossed off a complaint about Wei Zhao and Gu Mengyao, expecting the others to chime in. To his surprise, the response was a chilly silence, which only soured his mood further. Yet nothing showed on his face; he merely leaned over and whispered to Wang Congming beside him, "Go find out which private room they've taken."

Wang Congming nodded at once in understanding and headed ahead to the front desk to inquire about Wei Zhao's room number.

The attendant at the desk thought nothing of it. Seeing Tang Zhi's school uniform, and noticing that Wang Congming and his group wore the same, she assumed they were together and naturally told him which room Wei Zhao had booked.

Feigning ignorance, Xie Yufeng reserved a large private room, then went upstairs with his classmates...

Wei Zhao had booked a medium room — spacious enough for five.

Wei Zhao could not sing, so once inside, he simply settled himself on the sofa at random.

And Tang Zhi, naturally, sat down right next to Wei Zhao.

Feng Xiaoxiao, however, beat her to it and planted herself on Wei Zhao's other side! And so Wei Zhao found himself surrounded.

Seeing this, Shen Yushu was rather displeased.

"Hey, you've taken my seat!" Shen Yushu glared straight at Feng Xiaoxiao.

"Your seat? Where does it say this is your seat?" Feng Xiaoxiao curled her lip and looked at Shen Yushu with mockery.

"I always sit next to Brother Chewing Gum," Shen Yushu said.

"You said it yourself, always—meaning when I'm not around!" Feng Xiaoxiao said dismissively. "Now that I'm here, naturally I'm the one sitting next to Wei Zhao!"

"Brother Chewing Gum, look how she's bullying Xiaoshu!" Shen Yushu turned to Wei Zhao with a wounded look. "Don't you like Xiaoshu anymore?"

"I won't sit, you two sit." Wei Zhao rose to his feet with a helpless air; he truly had no idea what to do. He could not explain, so he could only endure in silence.

"I won't sit either. It's yours." Feng Xiaoxiao stood up, all smiles.

"Fine, I'll sit!" Shen Yushu happily plopped down in the seat Feng Xiaoxiao had just vacated.

The next moment, Feng Xiaoxiao realized she had been tricked! Wei Zhao had stood up, but sooner or later he would have to sit down again—and Tang Zhi had not risen, so would he not end up back beside her? That would put Wei Zhao next to Shen Yushu, would it not?

At that thought, Feng Xiaoxiao promptly sat down in Wei Zhao's former seat, right beside Tang Zhi. Shen Yushu was on her other side, but she no longer cared.

"What songs are you singing? Shall I pick them for you?" Wei Zhao was not especially interested in singing, but the song-selection system was simple enough—one glance and he knew how to work it.

Gu Mengyao saw that the moment Xiaoshu entered the private room she was at odds with Feng Xiaoxiao again, and felt rather helpless. But inwardly she was puzzled: what on earth was the story with this Feng Xiaoxiao?

Instinct told Gu Mengyao that Tang Zhi was not the sort of person Xiaoshu described. Could Tang Zhi really believe she was at a disadvantage compared to herself and Xiaoshu, that she could not manage a threesome with Wei Zhao, and so had found a little wife to make up the numbers?

But if she truly felt that way, why not bring herself and Xiaoshu into a foursome? Why drag Feng Xiaoxiao in at all?

Yet Gu Mengyao was startled by her own thoughts. What nonsense was she thinking? How could she entertain such impure ideas? Mm... it must be that Xiaoshu creature who had corrupted her!

"I'll sing a Xu Shilan song..." Gu Mengyao said to Wei Zhao, a little flushed, and shoved those unseemly thoughts to the back of her mind.
