Chapter 939 — Meridian Repair!

The Blossom Guardian

The instant that energy entered Wei Zhao's body, every muscle in him contracted sharply, his pores flaring open to drink it in greedily. He was like a sponge squeezed dry that, once plunged into water, begins to absorb with frantic hunger!

This was his own energy! The feel of it was all too familiar to Wei Zhao. At that moment he was like a single drop of water falling into the embrace of the vast sea, and he could not help but let out a low groan of sheer comfort!

As the energy poured in, the damaged meridians within Wei Zhao's body began to repair themselves with astonishing speed!

Wei Zhao's eyes went wide, and he stared at Mighty General with equal parts shock and delight!

The Mighty General in his arms seemed to be in great pain, yet it did not try to flee; it simply lay there, pressed against Wei Zhao's chest!

Sometimes it truly is a case of searching the world over on iron-shod feet, only to find what you sought without any effort at all!

Was not the energy inside Mighty General's body his own energy?

Just when Wei Zhao had been despairing that there was not a trace of energy left in him, that he could never repair his damaged meridians, he had forgotten one thing: Mighty General was, strictly speaking, a fellow disciple of his—a dog of his own school! Its energy was his energy, and so it could be used on his own body without the slightest problem!

"Don't disturb me, whatever you do!" Wei Zhao had no time to explain anything to Gu Mengyao and Shen Yushu; clutching Mighty General, he ran quickly into his room and locked the door behind him!

This sudden move of Wei Zhao's left Gu Mengyao and Shen Yushu utterly baffled!

"Yaoyao, what's wrong with Arrow Brand?" Shen Yushu stared at the tightly shut door and asked in puzzlement.

"I don't know either." Gu Mengyao shook her head. She too found it strange—what was Wei Zhao playing at? They were about to part, and yet he had suddenly run back to his room with Mighty General in his arms. What on earth was he trying to do?

"Could it be that Arrow Brand saw Mighty General and couldn't bear to leave after all?" At this, Shen Yushu suddenly turned wistful. "Yaoyao, do you think you and I are less dear to Arrow Brand than Mighty General is?"

"..." Gu Mengyao did not quite know how to answer, because she truly could not guess what Wei Zhao had taken Mighty General off to do...

"But why did he have to shut the door? Could he want to do something to Mighty General before he leaves? No, that can't be—Mighty General is male!" Shen Yushu said, bewildered. "Oh? Could Arrow Brand be into that?"

"Xiaoshu, what nonsense are you imagining? Why must your mind be so convoluted?" Gu Mengyao shot her a glare. This girl was getting more and more outrageous. "Do you want a beating?"

"No..." Shen Yushu stuck out her tongue and shut her mouth.

"Since he doesn't want us to disturb him, then we won't disturb him..." Yet Gu Mengyao was anxious at heart. She knew full well that Mighty General had grown far more formidable than before, and Wei Zhao had lost all his martial arts—he was no different from an ordinary man now. So she feared that when Mighty General had leapt onto Wei Zhao a moment ago, catching him off guard, it had struck him too hard and injured him!

That was why he had rushed back to his room to tend his wounds! But Gu Mengyao was afraid to say so, lest Xiaoshu start worrying too—it was only her own guess, and what if it turned out not to be the case?

Back in his room, Wei Zhao sat cross-legged on the bed, eyes half closed, savoring the energy flowing from Mighty General's body as it nourished his injured meridians!

Expressions of ease and of pain alternated across Wei Zhao's face; in that moment, he was both suffering and blissful!

Reduced to an ordinary man, Wei Zhao could hardly withstand such a surging, torrential influx of energy from Mighty General. But once the energy entered his body, the instant of meridian repair brought him pleasure beyond compare!

Within Wei Zhao's body, one meridian after another was slowly mending, at a speed visible to the naked eye!

"Phew—!"

Wei Zhao drew a deep breath. One of the main meridians in his body had already completed its self-repair under Mighty General's energy, and a look of profound relief spread across his face!

It was time. At long last, the time had come! He no longer had to hide!

Wei Zhao was not entirely ignorant of what had happened in Songshan City these past two days. How could he not know that all the major powers had moved against Gu Pengzhan at once? Fatty Lai was a man of the business world too—how could he not know? He simply did not know the specific terms each faction had demanded. But what good did knowing do Wei Zhao? He was still powerless. Apart from searching for a way to restore his strength, he had no other recourse.

Of course, Wei Zhao assumed these powers were merely after Gu Pengzhan's assets, so though his heart was stifled, he said nothing more. After all, whatever was lost today, he would one day return in triumph and make them hand it all back with both hands.

Only then did Wei Zhao remember: the energy he had used to repair his meridians had come from General Weiwu!

Wei Zhao gave a violent start. He opened his eyes and looked at General Weiwu in his arms—and saw an expression of utter agony on its face. That already less-than-handsome face was now contorted, every feature twisted together, a truly horrifying sight.

That energy was originally Wei Zhao's own, so naturally he knew just how vast an amount was required to repair a single meridian. Now all of it was being drawn from General Weiwu's body—could it possibly endure that?

At the thought, Wei Zhao instinctively moved to set General Weiwu down.

But then the bizarre thing happened again: General Weiwu seemed glued to Wei Zhao's body, impossible to put down at all, while the energy within it continued to pour into Wei Zhao in an endless stream.

Wei Zhao's expression turned grim at once. What on earth was going on? He abruptly recalled that something similar had happened when he treated Feng Xiaoxiao—the energy within his body had instantly surged out beyond his control.

At that thought, Wei Zhao had a fair guess: when a recipient needed energy without limit, if he failed to seal certain acupoints on the recipient beforehand, then the energy within his own body would flow into them endlessly and beyond his control.

Hadn't something similar happened when he first treated General Weiwu?

So much so that when Wei Zhao treated Liu Bojia, he had sealed some of his acupoints with silver needles beforehand to avoid wasting energy.

But that had been under the condition that he was running the Xuanyuan Dragon-Taming Art, so that the energy was drawn from his own body and channeled into the recipient. General Weiwu, however, did not know the Xuanyuan Dragon-Taming Art—so how was it controlling the energy within its body?

Could it be simply that, because it was a high dog he had created himself, it resonated with his own body, and that was what produced this effect?

Wei Zhao could not figure it out for the moment. It seemed he would have to ask Jiaoyazi in the jade pendant space after all.
